Microphone delay for Rock Band

I am using a 5.1 system, quality stuff, and an optical wire for my audio. There is a good 1 second delay with the microphone - makes singing unbearable and very hard to time properly - Any ideas? Thx. i am trying to play singstar and american idol karaoke and they both have a horrible delay on my hdtv. old tv was fine. no options in game menu to change delay or calibration that i can see...

Should be video delay settings in the game, this is a common issue with hdtv's, the issue is not that your audio is delayed but your video is delayed making illusion that your audio is off.

On the microphone setup page, it keeps on asking me to say 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and I made sure my audio settings were correct in my control panel. i don't know why it's not working!

Check to make sure that you have connected the microphone to a microphone port. Headphone ports are identical to microphone ports physically, however they will not accept audio input. If you have verified that the microphone is connected to a microphone jack and the device still does not work, you may be using an old or low quality microphone which is not good enough to detect your voice. You might need to buy a higher quality microphone. If this is not the case, your microphone may be broken. You can check this by using a recording program like audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/) to do a test recording and make sure that the microphone is actually recording. If none of the above seem to be the issue, then make sure you are speaking loudly and clearly. Voice recognition software is not always good at picking up your voice and you may need to enunciate your speech more, especially if English is not your first language or you have an accent. Good luck!

I have 2 guitars, 1 mic and 1 set of drums.. the wii keeps saying that I can only have 4 controllers hooked up and won't let me use all 4 pieces. If I unhook 1 thing, it works fine.. why can't I play all...

because when you use the microphone you also use a regular controller to select stuff and join the band so on that note you have 5 controllers (2 guitars 1 drumset 1 mic and the controller for the mic)

Guitar Hero Guitar with Rock Band disc

It depends on which version of Rock band you are playing, Rock band 1 will not work with Guitar Hero guitars at all, but Rock Band 2 on the wii will except them. and for the microphone you have to have a seperate wiimote sync'd up tho count as the controller for the the game to recognize the mic.

Microphone

You need to use a spare wii remote to control the microphone. It's explained in the docs that come with RB2.

Playing Rock Band 2 without a microphone

you have to use the green and red keys on the guitar to navigate the software...not the WII remote if you want to use the guitar.. THe WII remote is ONLY used for the Microphone.

On the drums you use the red and Green drum to navigate for the drum...not the WII remote....

Hook up all components to rock band

The game should have come with a 4 port USB hub. If not, you can go over to radio shack and get 1 for 2 bucks.

Microphone delay for Rock Band

That's a known issue. I can't remember how to fix it, but I believe I saw it in the manual. Call EA's tech support if you can't find it. I'd have to actually make some sort of compensation to find all of the details to this particular answer because it's somewhat complex and I'm really busy...
