Two possible causes. Try cleaning the fabric softener residue off of the temperature/moisture sensor. The other cause could be the thermostat has failed.
first make sure above the filter you see the words UP. if you don't see such letters, the filter is upside down. also to find which side to depress there is a indention about thumb size. the other side should be smooth. now if in correct add pressure on that indention downward with your fingers or butterknife near the back end after wards pull outward. if in upside down. same concept expect its gonna be harder.
Hi.It may be that these machines dont actually have a lint filter, they are making alot of them without lint filters now days. There would be a button trap down at the side or the rear i would imagine for cleaning out debris such as coins, hair pins,Etc.
Grasp the top of the plastic filter frame with your thumb on top and first finger below, push down gently as you tip the frame out toward the middle of the bin -- the frame will flex slightly, and pop out.
Returning, make sure the you have 'up' up and 'down' down, seat the plastic pin on the bottom into its cradle, and push the top of the filter frame toward the bin wall. It will pop in.
After you do it a few times, it will become much easier. The frame seems to be fairly sturdy, I was a bit worried I would break it initially -- but it has lasted several years and many, many removals.

My washer did not come with the Lint Filter. I contacted Haier Customer Service and sent them all the info they requested such as copy of receipt and etc. That was several weeks ago and Haier still says that they have yet to receive that letter. Or they say that due to high volume of warranty letters they receive, they have yet to process it. Anyways, I got fed up with the customer service or lack of, I started surfing the web for the lint filter and found the above site. The filter is very inexpensive and I got it in several days.
