Hello, welcome to FixYa
Based on the info you provided, specifically the E41 error, It sounds like the unit is detecting an unlocked door, loose wire, or the control itself is bad. (E41= Shorted or open. Defective door lock assembly.Around 1500Ohms. Defective control board.)
The PAU simply indicates the control thinks it has been paused...that may be just a side affect of the door lock assembly.
Here's how to check...
**Unplug the unit from the wall first...safety first**
Remove the door lock assembly and measure the resistance of the PTC. Should get a reading of around 1500ohms.
Attached here is a great tutorial for accessing the assembly for testing and replacing.

Thank's again for visiting FixYa today. Good luck.

Testimonial: "60 second unplug fixed the problem. Thank you!!!"
E41 - Control board thinks the door switch is open.
- In the J2 plug on the control, measure voltage from the black wire to ground with power on.
- 0 volts. Check the door strike. If good, replace the door switch assembly.
- 120 volts. Replace the control board.

Hope this helps.
About PAU error, this
is a strong indication and confirmation of Main control board failure. Essentially, the
board is having problems communicating with the other corresponding
units in the washer. The necessary actions will be to replace the Main
Electronic control board. The part number for your new control will be
137007000. I have also included a service manual for this unit, which
will guide you through the replacement procedure. Click here to access the service manual.
The
removal process for the electronic control assembly will be located on
page 74 of the manual provided. Start on page 73, under "RELEASING THE
CONSOLE" and work your way through page 74. Those instructions will help
with the removal process of the control board.
In E41 the
problem is the door latch needs to be reset, which requires unplugging
it's three electrical connections. This has to be done inside the
washer outer seal, but it is easy to get to. First remove the outer
ring that holds the seal on. Next remove only the side of the seal
closest to the door latch (again only the outer seal needs to be
undone). With this done remove the two screws holding the door latch in
place (inside). Remove the latch, unplug the three connectors, plug
them back in then reassemble everything. When all is back in place hit
"cancel" and it should be good to go.

I appreciate your post, Josh Orenstein!
From my understanding your Frigidaire washer is displaying "PAU" and "E41". "PAU" normally displays when there is an interruption to the cycle and "E41" means the main control board thinks the door switch is open. Either code can display due to a faulty door latch assembly, door strike, or main control board. You can attempt to perform a factory reset by holding down the Start/Pause button and Select button until a signal sounds. Also review the door latch and strike to see if there is any visible damage that could cause a short within the components. If there is no visible damage you may want to consult with a technician for proper diagnosis and repair of your washer. Hope this information is helpful to some degree. -Matt
Hi friend, thanks for your inquiry!
If your washer continues to display an error code of "PAU" it could be an issue with your door lock but if the door strike is not sitting properly within the latch your washer will continue to provide the error code "PAU". Additionally, if your control panel is registering that the door is closed you may continue to experience the "PAU" code. I would recommend having a professional come and properly diagnosis your washer to prevent any unnecessary part purchases. I hope this is helpful. -OOS
Hey friend, thanks for your inquiry!
I see off your post your Frigidaire washer is showing a "PAU 12" code. Typically "PAU" stands for pause which means the cycle has been interrupted. I would open and close the door to assure that there is a proper connection between the door strike and door latch. If you check that and still receive the "PAU" I would recommend a reset, which can be done by flipping the household circuit breaker off for roughly ten minutes. Hopefully this is helpful. -Matt
