Welcome to Fixya

Try to perform power drain. This will drain remaining electrostatic energy of the board that sometimes leads to this problem. Take out the battery and unplug the power cord from the wall. Press and hold the power button for 30 secs. Put everything back and test the problem.

Battery is showing as not detected and computer loses power as soon as charger is disconnected. Any ideas?

sounds like battery is not charged. You may have a dead battery and may need a new battery . Or battery needs to be left in laptop with power plugged in to allow it to charge.

New battery not detected

Is the replacement battery of the same spec? Some inexpensive battery do not have that correct pins to ID the battery. Try to unplug, remove battery read the specs and post. replace battery, could be that it's not in all the way, and reboot. Does it show after a reboot? Is the charge light on? The win 7 OS isn't showing a battery present?

Sony pcg-81114L power supply not detected

If thelaptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out.Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles andwill lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR Thebattery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the batterydrops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to anunacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced.

DELL XPS 1210 i purchased a replacement battery not recognised

If the battery is not detected in the BIOS (F2 at boot) and doesn't show as charging, then return the battery and get a replacement.

If neither the original battery or the new replacement battery are not detected in the bios a problem with the motherboard may exist. If still under warranty, contact Dell Support for a repair, if not, then you may be investing in a new motherboard

Battery not charging after os installation EVO N160 C

Lithium Ion batteries aren't something that you can really calibrate unless the laptop has a utility in the bios to do so (ASUS laptops). You either have a motherboard related malfunction in reporting the battery life as you say it does report in another laptop, or you need to update the ACPI driver which you can get from the manufacturer's website.
