Exact same thing! Doesn't matter which input I select...no audio output at all. I even tried unplugging the AC and let sit for a minute or so (hoping for a reset) and still nothing. Any suggestions appreciated.Exact same thing! Doesn't matter which input I select...no audio output at all. Hi, Please reset Onkyo receiver that will solve noisy sound problem, to reset the receiver, press and hold Video-1 button on unit and press Speaker-A button. Display will show *Clear* that means receiver has been restore on default settings, turn it On and check sound. Hope this will help. Thanks.
If your remote also controls the Cable Box you might want to look at its audio settings. Maybe you muted it.
BTW: it would be a good idea to also run video and analog audio from the cable box directly to the TV if it has speakers so you can watch and listen independent of the Onkyo.
Make sure your receiver is hooked up to proper AM and FM antennae. Try switching to AM, scan stations. If you hear AM static and/or weak signals the problem could be antennas are not hooked up. FM has AFT which blocks out weak or noisey stations and you wont hear anything without ant.
