I would try a Radio Shack dealer if you have one near you, as long as the electric rating is exactly the same as is the plug connection it should work fine.

hi, easy operation but first if the car is fairly new, call the company and ask their advise, cutting wires will probably void the warranty.
1.cut the wires and strip between the old battery and the car.
2. strip and connect the new battery by twisting together and securing with wire nuts available at any hardware store on the planet, like these
3. test the car, if it doesnt work correctly or at all, the + and - are probably reversed, switch and try again.
4. its a good idea to reenforce the wire nuts with duct or electrical tape after they are tightened.

There may be a frequency setting on the remote control, the vehicle, or both. The switch typically looks the same as the On/Off switch only "A" and "B" would replace on and off. If the product has this feature, make sure that the switches on both items matches.

SOURCE: remote control is messed up.
Have you tried to change the batteries of the controller?
When you haven't used it for two years, then i would try that in the first place.
I hope I helped you with your problem.
With kind regards,
