Which operating system? Mac OS should mount the volume on the desktop when inserted, in Windows, you will have to open Computer/My Computer and access the drive letter it assigned to your card.

If nothing at all happens try a different USB port

the device is plug and play, it should "just work" hehe

Move the reader to a different USB port. If that doesn't work, the reader's probably given it up. I've seen several of this brand reader die an early death, for no apparent reason.

How do i insert the 8b memory card in the memory card reader? i've tried it several ways and it does not light up??? i need a visual

The Dynex 5-in-1 Reader may be too old to read high capacity secure digital cards. (HCSD)
An 8 GB SD card is definitely going to be high capacity. Only the relatively newer SD readers can read the HCSDs.

Try putting in a 2 GB or lower size SD card and see if it works. If it does, then your card reader doesn't support higher capacity cards.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa.

How do you put music onto a memory card using a dynex memory card reader using a mac

Put the memory-card into the card-reader.
Connect the card-reader to the computer.
Watch the "desktop" for a new icon to appear, representing a "removable-disk-drive".
Double-click on the icon to open the folder.
Drag-and-drag music files from your computer into the folder that you just opened.

Windows 7 doesn't read my Dynex usb 2.0 card reader

1. You have to see if the program is compatible with the Windows 7 operating system.
this is possibly due to drivers that the Windows 7 doesn't have in the "cab" files.
this manufacturer of the Dynex is your next step for a Windows 7 driver set.

I cant figure out how to use the memory card reader, whenever I plug it into the computer nothing shows up. What do i do?

Make sure that the memory card is properly seated inside the card reader.
Try different cable.
Verify with the manufacturer, if this card reader is a Plug-n-Play or if you need to install a driver to the computer.

Try connecting it to different computer. Or try different types of memory cards (the cards should be supported).

If same problem occur, you need to contact the reseller, because the card reader could be defective.

Good luck!

Card reader installation!

The device wont be recognized by your computer until you insert a card. Plug a card into the reader, then plug the reader into the computer. You should hear a confirmation tone (if the card is formatted) and it should appear in my computer. No drivers or software are required as it uses a MSD (Mass Storage Device) interface.
