I'm sorry that the Camera is displaying the error message. "TURN THE POWER OFF AND ON AGAIN" displays on the LCD screen when the Lens Mechanism is stuck or when affected by any malfunction. If turning the power on and off again does not resolve the error message, try doing a power reset. Please follow the below steps to perform a power reset.

·Turn off the camera.
·Remove the battery pack.
·Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
·Allow the camera to remain without power for 60 seconds.
·Reinsert the battery pack.
·Turn on the camera.

Also try initializing the Cameraif you're able to access the Menu items on the Camera. The Initialize option will be available underSetup or Main settings Sub Menus.
If the issue persists again, service is required. Please click hear to locate the service center near your area.

Thanks for understanding. Please let me know if your require any clarifications.

Hi, Dropping the camera has likely dislodged the motor in the lens which is causing that area. Rarely can it be fixed and if it can it tends to cost more then the camera, in my opinion your best option will be to buy a new camera.

When I turn on my Sony Cybershot DSCS950, I get this message: "Turn the Power off and on again." Is this something manageable, or does my camera have a terminal problem?

Hi Unfortunately not, it has lens unit defective. You can bring to local repair shop and they will charge around $45 to 95 depend on what they really want to charge. Thanks and best regard!

I have a sony cybershot w-290. I downloaded pictures to my laptop from the memory stick. When I turn it on I get a message to turn it off and back on again. My lens keeps going in and out. I show full...

Sounds like your lens has issues. Probably some debris/sand got into it or maybe it suffered a
Jolt of some sort. Whatever the case maybe you will need to get your Lens serviced.
Sometimes if you use a case the camera may have turned on inside the case and caused
lens damage.

The lens of my sony camera will NOT retracked. What can I do, I love this camera.

There is a capacitor dump that you can try.

Remove the batteries, wait 5-10 minutes.
With the batteries out, press and hold the power button for 10 seconds or so.
Put the batteries back in and your camera will start over (re-boot). You will know if it worked if you have to reset the date. But if that lens is really stuck you may be out of luck. The cost to repair it will exceed the cost of a new camera.
