LE means that the motor sensor has failed and needs a technician to come out and repair the unit. To remove the water, turn on the unit, press the spin speed button once and press start. It will drain the water out and spin the drum.

Belt, Water Pump If the washer won't drain the pump belt might have broken or might have worn out. Check the belt and replace if it shows signs of excessive wear.

Drain Pump If the washer won't drain water the drain pump might be defective. It's also common for a small sock or other article of clothing to get caught in the drain pump or in the drain hose. Check both for an obstruction before replacing the pump.

Clogged Pump or Hose If the washer won't drain there might be a clogged pump or hose. It's common for small socks or other small clothing items to get into the water drain system and clog the hose leading to the pump or the pump itself. Remove the hoses from the pump in order to remove the article of clothing. Keep in mind that any water in the washer will pour out of the hoses when removed.

Drive Belt If the washer won't drain, should check the drive belt. If the belt is broken or if it isn't tight on the pulleys the washer won't drain properly, if at all.

Lid Switch Assembly If the washer won't drain the lid switch assembly might be defective. This is a very common problem. The lid switch assembly can fail either mechanically or electrically. Test any electrical switches with an Ohm meter for continuity. The switches should have continuity according to their design.

Door Lock Motor and Switch Assembly If the washer won't drain the door lock assembly should be checked. The door lock can fail either mechanically or electrically. Test any switches on the door lock with an Ohm meter. The switches should have continuity according to their design.

Drain Hose If the washer won't drain water check the drain hose. Be sure the hose did not get kinked behind the washer. Also, remove the hose from the pump and check it for obstructions.

Coin Trap If the washer won't drain the coin trap may be clogged. This washer is equipped with a device near the water pump called a coin trap. The purpose of this device is to trap any foreign materials that make their way down the drain. Normally, the coin trap can be accessed through an access panel. It is designed with the homeowner in mind and is normally easy to clean out.

Washer Flashing Error Code ND; door won't open after turning washer off

Hello,

The ND error code means NO DRAIN. ,

The usually reason the door remains locked once the cycle is over is because the filter screen on the drain pump is blocked so not all the water could drain out...the door lock is tied into the pump and until the pump tells the control board that the wate r is out the door will not unlock. This tip i wrote will show ya how to take apart the washer to clean the filter on the pump.

My maytag mtw5600tq1 washer won't hold water. Its

Hi,
Its sounds like you have a siphon going on, this happens when the drain hose it too low during fill and as the water enters the unit it exits through the drain hose. To stop this the drain hose needs to be higher than the tub itself, meaning: raise the drain hose behind the washer to about control panel area. This will or should stop the siphon effect and allow the water to remain in the tub. If the drain hose is low this siphon will start again.
I hope this helps

My amana front load washer has Nd flashing and won't open door? What does Nd stand for?

Hello,
The ND error code means NO DRAIN, why it comes up is because the computer thinks that within the normal times it takes to drain the water from the tub it hasnt drained in that time.
Things that will cause it to not drain in the normal time is oversudsing becuase too much detergent was added.
Or something such as lint in the drain pump filter screen restricting the water flow into the pump

The washer is saying LE what does this mean. I had it on delicate cycle and now there is water in the machine and it needs to spin out. Help.

Apparently "LE" can mean a million different things - everything from "your drain motor is burned out" to "your drain filter is clogged" to "you used too much soap". I have found that usually it is the latter. I gather that what "LE" really means is that the drain flow rate is not high enough. Here's the quick fix that you hope will work, and that has always worked for me (knock on wood):
1. Get a 5-gallon bucket (or a little less)
2. Open the little door on the bottom left of the front (pry it open with a quarter, like it says in the owner's manual)
3. There is a drain hose with a plug in it. Pull out the plug and let the water drain into the bucket
4. There is a gross trap/filter in that same door. After draining, unscrew that filter, remove and clean out, then screw it back in place.
5. Replace the plug in the drain hose, and close the door back.
6. Try running the washer again, but don't add any soap. If it was the filter that was clogged, the washer will run to completion, everything is fixed, and you can start your free happy dance.
7. If it stops again and gives the "LE" again (likely), then drain the water into the bucket again, replace the plug, and start the washer at the beginning again without adding any soap. Usually by the third time I do this, the washer will run to completion and I can commence the free happy dance, followed by the gentle reminder to my lovely spouse not to use too much soap, that the washer actually cleans better with the right amount of soap, even on those extra dirty clothes.
Hope this helps!
