Dell 3010cn Color Laser Printing Quality

I have had my Dell Color Printer for about a year now and have been very happy with color print quality. Just recently replaced the drum cartridge as it was flashing "replace drum cartridge soon". Since replacing the drum I have noticed a splotchy print quality on the solid color borders when printing. I print a lot of bordered items for party invitations, etc. and this mainly occurs at the end of the page. It is a speckled, blotchy, uneven print quality. I have tried cleaning but that doesn't resolve the problem. Could this be related to a faulty drum unit? It mainly occurs on cyan color, but also noticeable in the magenta as well. Is there anything that I can do to resolve this?

Thanks for any assistance you can provide!

No, I haven't contacted Dell as I wasn't sure if it was the drum unit. But I will give them a call and see if they can replace it...they are very expensive, so hopefully they will be able to do that!

Just thought I would update you. I called Dell and they are sending me a replacement drum kit. We did a few diagnostic tests and they determined that it was defective. I appreciate your help with this issue & wanted to let you know the outcome!
Thanks & have a great day!

After you click print, and just before you print, go to your 'printing preferences' or 'print settings' in the popup window. From there, cycle through the tabs, and ensure that 'print quality' is NOT at draft and IS on normal or high quality. Alternatively, you change the 'print resolution' in this window, if the option is available. Resolution is usually given in 'dpi' so choose the highest 'dpi' value. This should hopefully give you darker prints

Dell 3100cn printer prints individual colors fine. When printing full color picture the paper wraps around the fuser. Tried new fuser - same problem. Any suggestions?

Good old fuser wrap, what a pain. What type of paper are you printing on. Often with full page coverage printing I find that you need to user a heavier bond color printing paper to achieve any sort of good quality and reliability in feeding.

Should be an option in the printer driver to do this.

Try
