Turning On and Standby
On the AV receiver, press the [ON/STANDBY] button.
On the remote controller, press the [RECEIVER] button, followed by the
[ON/STANDBY] button.
The AV receiver comes on, the display lights up, and the STANDBY indicator goes off.
To turn the AV receiver off, press the [ON/STANDBY] button, or press the remote
controller's [ON/STANDBY] button. The AV receiver will enter Standby mode.

If you have any trouble using the receiver, a simple reset could solve your problem.Note that resetting the AV receiver will delete your radio presets and custom settings.
To reset the AV receiver to its factory defaults, turn it on and, while holding down the [VCR/DVR] button, press the [ON/STANDBY] button. "Clear" will appear on the display and the AV receiver will enter Standby mode.

Receiver won't stay on. Stays on stand by

The standby light means it is plugged in. The reason it wont come on is because of a bad power supply.

Wont turn on it stays on stand by

This could be a power supply issue to a audio output problem, I strongly recommend a top notch tech to check your unit because this is a high end device.

My Motorola sb5101 won't come online how do I troubleshoot this? My cable connection is fine. When the modem boots up the green power light comes on and stays on followed by the receive light and the send...

These modems are very tricky. When this type modem goes into stand by modem that indicates that you do have a connection to your internet service provider. The reason you cant get online is because all internet access is disabled wile the modem is in standby. If you look closely there is a button located on the top of the modem. This is the stand by button. If you hit that button it should take the modem out of stand by mode and reestablish your connection to the internet.

I hope that information above has helped is some way.
If possible please rate this solution.

Not familiar with this model but seems like the protection circuit is kicking in, this could be caused by an imbalance of Ohms between channels or a short. remove & check all speakers and cables for continuity or shorts, does the unit power on without speakers or in a different mode (surround off).
always add speakers in pairs (L&R) before testing to prevent possible protection circuit, test main speaker pair first then add surrounds (all according to the allowable Ohms range for the amp of course)

Check your speaker wires, if they are crossed somewhere then the system protects it's self.

If you find blown transistors (R<1 ohm from E to C) you'll need to replace them. After removing the shorted transistors, also check the associated large ceramic current sharing resistors, R6100 thru 04 next to the output transistors. These are dual 0.22 ohm, 2W resistors that typically fail open if overstressed. These are both common failures resulting from overloading the speaker outputs that will cause the proctection circuit to shut down the power supply at turn on. Good luck.
