Your LCD/monitor is cracked from the inside. There are several things that can cause a screen to crack from the inside. The two most common are pressure on the screen or dropping the machine. Sorry, but it is irreparable. You need to buy a replacement.

Hi kevinmmer,

I see you mentioned that the screen looks cracked but it isn't.

LCD screen can be damaged from within the LCD itself and may seem it is cracked but on the outside it is not only in the inside.

this is going to be unrepairable and will need replacing on your case.

I suggest that calling your computer manufacturer for any details about your machine if still in warranty or not of it is then that is good but you still may need to ask if the the LCD issue is covered on this case some manufacturers do not cover cracked LCD screen inside or Out.

I hope this helps.

Have a nice day,

mvincent

In a lcd or crt monitor there are 2 pieces. The piece that you are seeing that is not cracked is a glass like protector. Underneath is where the picture comes from and that is the piece that is damaged. In my opinion it would be cheaper to replace the monitor rather then get it fixed.

Hope this helps.

My screen looks like it's broken but the glass is not cracked I think it my be a video problem how can I find this ? A reset ?

If it looks like broken in all apps then what is broken is the lcd screen itself and the glass is not.

I dropped my lenovo x100e think pad and when i power up the screen is muti colored. the screen itself is not cracked.. can this be fixed?

Hi shodo37,

Most of the time when you're getting multi colored screen after the machine was dropped is caused by a cracked LCD. But I understand that it's hard to believe that screen is broken if you're not seeing any physical crack on the outside. By going to BIOS it will help you determine if your screen is cracked. If you don't know how to go to there follow the steps below:

>>> Turn on your PC, once it start up keep on tapping F2 button. You'll be routed on the page that has blue background. If on this page you'll still get multi colored screen then it's indeed broken screen. No crack on the outside but there's something needed to be checked inside.

Broken LCDs can only be fixed by replacing it with a new one. And if system is still under warranty you may contact Lenovo. They will offer you options to resolve the issue depending on what your warranty covers.

Hope this will help you.

Hi there....i accidentally stepped on my laptop and the screen looks liks its cracked....the actual screen isnt cracked it just looks like it...kinda looks like you can see the inside of it...HELP!!!!

Yup, its cracked. The actual LCD (liquid cristal display) is inside the protective plastic casing and that is supposed to help keep it from being damaged. It has to be replaced..

My son threw a ball and hit the screen cracks all over can this be fixed with a new screen or is it junk now really bright light shows through all the crack marks

The front glass is just a protector for the LCD screen. If your TV turns on and the picture looks ok (may be a little color variation around the crack if front glass is pushing on it, variation OK black Bad) If the picture looks within the range described then replace the glass. It is just a piece of standard glass and a pretty easy diy job. If the LCD screen is broken the repair will be more than the replacement cost. Sad fact US TV repairmen make a living wage while the workers that assembled you TV wouldn't be able to buy lunch here with what they made putting it together.

Samsung 42'' model no.ln-t4053h 8 mod code#lnt4053hx/xaa

The panel costs over $800 to replace. The broken/cracked panel cannot be fixed as the glass inside is cracked. It is not worth repairing. However, I would be interested in it for the parts. If you still have it, would you be open to selling it to me at a reasonable price? Please call me at 310-770-1444. Thank You, Jeff

Cracked lcd screen

You see cracks in glass that is not generic glass. It is LCD Panel made of new technology.  That glass has few layers and a large amount of liquid crystal dots array built in. There are few polarizer in between LCD Panel. Below is an image having bit details about LCD Panel.

Hope this will clear the concept of LCD Panel vs generic glass.

Broken plasma tv screen.....nec model

SoCalRugger,
The plasma usually has 2 sheets of glass, the outer one sounds ok which is not good news as these can be replaced.
The inner panel is the actual plasma layer and if it is craked or broken it usually requires a swapout for a new panel.
