Refrigerator not cooling. doesn't seem like fan is blowing. freezer still working

all that happens is the cold air from the freezer gets blown into the fridge section by the evap fan motor brhind the inside back wall of the freezer so if you open the freezer door and don't hear the fan blowing i would say that yes you do have a bad evap fan motor and that's why the fridge section is warm.next time send the brand name and model number so i can help you better

Problem with GE Refrigerator (GTS18SHSVRSS) -- Doesn't run. Power seems to be getting in (inside lights turn on and we can hear a faint humming sound), but the fan/condenser doesn't seem to be...

NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very, very carefully.

Sounds like the cold control has stuck . Unplug the two wires from the cold control and plug them together. Turn one wire over and plug it into the other. away from the cold control.
The cold control is the knob in the ref that turns it on and off and has numbers on it. (Thermostat)
If it runs then that cold control (Thernostat) is the problem.
If that doesn't work DO THIS:
The relay on the compressor may need replaced
A relay starts the compressor with a higher voltage and then quickly kicks out
Thats what is happening with yours
Its best for a tech to replace The relay but you can do it
Take your model number to your Local Appliance parts store they will have a diagram
showing you how to install the relay. Its called a hard start relay
also try hooking the two wires together on the cold control to route around the cold control.

I moved my refrigerator to vacum (Frigidaire model PLHT217TAK 2002) and since then the warm air stopped coming out from the front bottom vent. It also stopped making noise, it seems to want to start but...

the condenser fan motor is what blows the air around down there, pull out the machine remove the back bottom panel and you'll see the fan, check it to see if something is stuck in the fan blade keeping it from spinning,do this right away,if the fan isn't blowing you can cook your compressor,if something is wrong with the fan motor you can leave the bottom panel off and stick a regular fan back there to keep the compressor cool until you fix the fan motor.hope this helps

The maytag skybox doesn't get cold anymore. we had it outside for a while (we didn't realize you couldn't have it outside) & it worked great all last summer. this spring, we realized it...

First you need to find out if the compressor is kicking on or not. If it isn't then it could be the starting capacitor (item 23), start relay (item 7) or the compressor itself. Since you had it outside I would suspect the capacitor or relay. http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Maytag-Parts/Refrigerator-Parts/Model-MBV1976AAB/3048/0168000/M0510224/00001

Does the skybox make noise (like your refrigerator starting a cycle)? If not, I would unplug it for a short while and let it set. Then when you plug it back up listen for noises on whether the compressor kicks on or not. If it doesn't then you can check the cap and relay board. Or have your compressor checked for operation and freon.

Hot on middle bar between doors. Both rubber gaskets are hot too. seems to be working but running hard and making noise. Its making ice and water.

Hello, Thank You for using FixYa. I will be helping you today. If it is hot to the touch it is either because the condenser fan failed or the condenser is dirty.Check the fan in back of the unit make sure it runs when the compressor is on. If it doesn't run with the compressor replace it. If it does then you need to clean the back vents in the cardboard and under the front of the unit. One of these will correct your issue. This area should be warm at times just not hot. It prevents moisture.

Noisey fridge/faulty fan

Hi Fat head; the problem is not completly uncommon. what can happen is the fan gets something on it and becomes unballanced. Thi in turn wears the fans motor bushings out, and eventually ruins the unit. A couple hundred quid seems a bit steep to me, But I live in the U.S.A., and unless I am mistaken, the cost to have a repair person come, and do a service on an electrical appliance, is considerably higher in the U.K. So no, a couple hundred quid is not completly out of line.
