Hi
Here is the user manual for your unit:
http://users.turkuai.fi/users/niohtone/cm600.pdf
You will need a pdf reader to open the file, if you don't have one or you can't open the document get one from here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/
yes you will most likely require special tools to open the safety screws , I 'm not sure about the clips.
But note that
Battery recycling
Black & decker service centers will ensure that a non-performing batteries from black and decker products will be disposed and recycled. FREE INSTALLATION IS OFFERED WITH THE PURCHASE OF A NEW BATTERY. CALL YOUR NEWRST SERVICE CENTRE FOR DETAILS
If you can't get to the battery yourself it would be best to get in touch with B&D to get the battery replaced free aslong as you buy a battery from them.
if you need anything else or if you have any questions, let me know.
Thanks,
Ekse

The site that you need for the repair manual is Dewaltservicenet.com and in the middle of the page towards the bottom type in your model number to get to the page with a parts explosion. I briefly looked at it and it appears that there are 2 bolts on the back of the cover and then you would lift the back and slide the 2 flats on the front out to remove it. Also a concern is that about a 1/3 of these parts are no longer available. If you need any more help let me know and have a good day.

I must be missing something. It should be fairly straightforward. It is pretty much just unpinning the brake caliper and hanging it so that it's weight is supported and removing the brake rotor. Put down the Chilton manual that you are using and go to the autozone.com website and register the truck. It's free and will give you access to an online repair manual. The steps for changing the brake rotors can be found there. There are pics and diagrams and the steps for removing the caliper/pads and brake rotor can be found there. (unless I am missing something) Hope this helped and best wishes.

Place the deck in the lowest position using the hydraulic piston (if applicable) or the manual cutting-height adjuster.
Remove the deck-to-PTO belt from the PTO by releasing tension on the idler-arm pulley. This is a spring-loaded handle that turns in only one direction by hand and relieves the tension on the belt. Slip the deck-to-PTO belt off the PTO pulley after the tension is relieved.
Remove the deck from underneath the mower or tractor.
Locate any belt stops and loosen them with the ratchet wrench and proper socket. Belt stops are located on the deck and are the small metal brackets that guide and secure the belt to the pulleys so it will not jump off when under heavy use, or stretch from normal wear.
Remove any pulley covers by removing the retaining screws using the ratchet wrench and a socket.
Loosen the idler-pulley retaining bolt (located on the underside of the mower deck) to replace the deck-to-PTO belt. Removing the bolt is not necessary. Loosen the pulley enough to wiggle the belt free from the pulley and remove and replace the belt.
Remove any arbor covers (if applicable) that conceal the arbor pulleys by removing the retaining screws with the ratchet wrench and a socket to replace the mower arbor belt.
Locate the tensioner pulley on the mower arbor belt to replace it. Loosen the tensioner pulley bolt enough to slide it and release tension from the belt. Remove the belt from the arbor pulleys and replace it.
Slide the tensioner pulley back leaving about 1/2-inch of play in the belt and tighten the bolt. Reverse the procedure to put the rest of the mower deck back together and reinstall on the mower or tractor.
