I have used this type of printer before. Long ago when it was called the C-ITOH. However, never had to change the print head before. I would imagine that if you did - all the adjustments would need changing. Bad Gap would skip labels and bad pressure would make them too light or too dark. If there are any vertical lines (even faint) the print head is damaged. Also, these things are very specific as to media vs ink roller. You cannot use a paper ink roller with mylar labels. Vise versa works but those rolls are more expensive. I am sure you have tested this already but you point pretty exclusively to the "new" print head with your testing. Sounds like you have answered your own question. I would do some continuity tests on the head to see if it carries any current at all. Good Luck!
Hi, Thanks for your suggestion.
My concern is even the older print head is giving the same problem, Its just feeding blank labels.
however i have not changed any printer settings or driver settings. Not even removed the ribbon from its spindle. Simply replaced the new head and suddenly it stop printing. Again Placing back the older head, same problem is there. if any problem of suitability of labels and ribbons, Ribbons should get the impression of the printing. But there is nothing on the ribbon also.
I have talked to an engineer who has the experience in another brands of printers, as per him it can be due to the low voltage or no power reaching to the print head the head is not transferring any heat in to the media.
is it possible any cable can get damaged while replacing the print head?
Please suggest if you understand above my description of the issue....
Thanks once again......
i see. if you are not getting an error - like "Head Err", then replacement unit is likely fine. I am assuming that the labels are advancing...preferrable label by label albeit blank? That is not to say there are sensors around the mounts. All I can think of is that somehow the distance out from the side of the printer is not right or something like that. Voltage could be a more serious issue too. Not sure if a continuity test of the print heads is necessary as both are failing to print but certainly with the hookup area behind the head. Verify power is getting there at least.
