If you mean you measured the power coming from the power supply was only 6 volts from the 12v lead.To be honest its really not worth your time and the parts cost you can get one under $30.00 new.

SOURCE: Dell ATX(12v) power supply

The fact that it is made by Dell is irrelivent.

ATX is a standard and so are 20 and 24 pin motheroboard connectors.

You should find what you need by searching for: power supply unit on Wikipedia and Google.

Good luck!

SOURCE: Dell DPS-1200EB A REV :01 I need to know which

As an audiophile and former hardware engineer specialized in switching power supplies, this would be the last thing I would do in my life.

Switching power supplies are noisy and when used in a power amp they will deliver horrible sound quality.

I push the on button I get a amber light not a blue light

Assuming this is a PC, and then most likely a Dell, a amber light during attempted power up is an indication of a power supply fault. You can by a PC power supply test (24 pin ATX) on Amazon for very little money, disconnect the power supply connections and a 12V hard drive connection and connect it to the tester and try turning it on, the tester should indicate if a power rail is bad (+5V,+12V,-12V,+3.3V). If any of those are absent or the power supply still does not power up then replace the power supply. It could also be a problem with the mainboard, pray to the PC gods it is not. Good Luck!

I have a dell dib75r pinevalley mainboard I need to know whats the max power supply i can apply to this motherboard pls. for graphics card

The stock 305W power supply guarantees 20 to 25W on the +5VSB rails and 150 to 170W on the 3.3v/5V Rails. Many GTX 750 TI now say (300W PSU that can supply 18 AMPS MIN on the 12v rail aka 216W on the 12v rail.

Many EPS 12v power supplies only guarantee 10 to 15W on the +5VSB and 125 to 130W on the 3.3v Rails.

This means you buy the supply and it may not even turn on. If it does it wont work with the 960 card installed.

Buying a power supply is not a single 12v rail and thats the only thing it uses.

There are many users who should have gotten a corsair RM1000 but instead chose an ATX not EPS 12v power supply at 500 to 750W and they have the Solid Amber Light of *****. EPS12v 2.92 for 750W and up guarantees 150W on the 3.3v rail, 20W on the +5vsb rail and 375W on the 12v Rails minimum.

Question about Dell D220P 01 Optiplex AC/DC Adapter 220-Watt Power Supply HOW DO I USE THIS UNIT TO PROVIDE 12V STANDALONE POWER?

most power supplies have a switch for 120 and or 220 options just move the switch to what setting you want. most power supplies can be used as a stand a lone power supply, if not than you need to request for a 220 watt power supply the can be used as a stand alone for pc or computer use. most computer retail should have them in stock. look on line or at

The fact that it is a dell IS relevant because dell is always doing custom plugs and connectors and form factors. It has no ATX plug. This a server power supply and has no green wire. I would like to use this as a stand alone psu too because it delivers 60 amps of 12v.7_22_2012_8_22_34_pm.jpg

Any power supply should work as long as it's the proper minimum wattage. You only need to make sure that it has the power connectors you need for your system. T'here is nothing wrong with buying a 400 watt P/S or larger. Many systems have under powered power supplies if you add onto or upgrade your system. For example when building systems you need to calculate how much ram memory your system will have and you need so many watts for each gig of ram. Dells normally come with under minimum required ram so they don't put very good power supplies in their systems and when people upgrade the ram the power supplies are usually inadequate.

Use nps-330ab for a normal power supply

You need to ground pin 14 momentarily to turn the power supply on. Pin 10 provides +12v, pin 12 provides -12v. Diagram here.
