I can not hear speaker called "LS". I've run new speaker wires with no results. Is it time for a new receiver?

Well if you can hear RS then take it to your local electronics repair store if warranty has expired. If you cant hear RS aswell then you might not have the right number of speaker's or speakers setup right. if you have 7.1 then you will have LS and RS speakers if it is 5.1 setup then then rear speaks have an option on most to be a rear (behind speakers) or rear (side speakers

Sound problems with an Onkyo receiver and a FIOS Set Top Box

If you are not hearing dialogue, then check your center speaker. Most voice tracks are routed to the center channel

My phone has no sound, and it now says "-Car Kit-" WHY?

Firstly i come to your 2nd question where you asked what the meaning of Car Kit. Bro Car Kit means a sound system which contain also blue tooth, DVD, FM etc. So in Car Kit any one can pair their blue tooth devices i mean your cell phone where blue tooth are available. So when you pair your device at the define range then Car Kit will be connected with your phone so when your receive or dial a call then the Car kit speaker will be active automatically. You can hear voice from there.
Now come to your next question,
If your Car is off or you are so far from car then your speaker will be enable normally but if it don't work then means your speaker disable or inactive. As a result, you have to change your speaker by a expert technician then you will release from this problem. Thanks a lot

Mute speaker on M7310

I've had Nortel Norstar m7310 phones for years and the entire time that I've them, I've never used the speaker phone. I could hear them, they couldn't hear me. At this site, I figured out how to fix that and now the speaker phone works. It created another problem. For me to use the Called ID, I would have to press the line that was calling and I would see who it was that was calling. Now, when I do that, it immediately picks up the phone versus letting see who is calling. I want to be able to both see who is calling and use the speaker phone. Thanks.

Hi I ve had the cd10 for a year and it's been used twice . The problem is the amp powers on with out the popping speaker sound the led is showing red which is the powers on but get no sound what so...

Hi there. You may have a blown fuse.Unplug the amp then undo the screws that hold it all together.Remove the wires off the speaker and put an AA battery across the speaker connections(of the speaker). You will hear a clicking sound if the speaker is ok.If not then the speaker is blown. This could also damage the circuitry.Check the fuse(s) and replace with exactly the same rating.Assemble and test if still no go then the circuitry is faulty. You could then take it to a repair shop and ask for a quote to repair it.
It might be cheaper to buy a new unit.

The speaker on my son's moto Citrus stopped working.

Can you hear calls on speakerphone? If not there's a problem with that speaker. It's probably best to take it in to your carrier, they should replace it.

Speakers work at low volume. Around -39 db, receiver shuts off.(protection mode) Tried moving speaker wires, alternating red and black. No go. When powered back up, display says ck sp wires. Once I...

Decibels correspond to the output voltage being sent to the speakers. In your case, the voltage is reached at -40dB is the threshold that causes whatever is happening to operate the receiver's protection circuit. You might have a bad speaker, with a voice coil that shorts at the higher voltage. Below that level it's okay, but at the magic point the insulation breaks down, and that's when the receiver sees trouble.

You might try connecting only one speaker at a time using a short length of wire other than your current ones. If the trouble occurs on one speaker only, you've found the culprit. If the receiver operates normally on each speaker, try reconnecting one speaker at a time to determine if one of the speaker wires may have a short somewhere. There might be a weak spot in the insulation, not causing any trouble until the voltage is high enough.

If the receiver still goes into protection with just one speaker, there's an internal problem. Some part in the amplifier may be breaking down at that voltage. Or a part value has changed, causing the protection circuit to kick in even though there's really nothing wrong. Bad solder connections may have developed. Unfortunately, this kind of problem usually needs the services of a shop with the equipment and circuit information to figure out what's happening. If you can find a Yamaha-authorized warranty servicer, they might already know some typical causes if they've seen units with the same trouble.

Try the speaker test first. Then let a shop tackle the receiver if it looks like that's where the fault is. Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!
