Forgot my HTC G2 T-Mobile lock pattern - HTC Reusable Screen Protector Hero / T-Mobile G2 Touch / T-Mobile G1 Touch

After you put the wrong pattewrn in about 3 or so times at the bottom of your screen you will see a forgot my pattern option. Click it and then sign in with your google account.

1. Switch ON your HTC G2 with a Not ACCEPTED SIM Card.
2. If your HTC G2 asks for a PIN code, then enter your SIM card PIN and press OK.
3. HTC G2 will ask to enter an "unlock code".
4. Enter Unlock Code we send to you.
5. Your HTC G2 is now unlocked.

my htc G2 wont let me download media message ,how can i fix this?

It's likely that you need your HTC G2 to be unlocked as all sims a compatible with all GSM phones the only block to using a sim is a network lock.

IDK about a simple legitimate fix for this. I was just messin around with the pattern, hit "forgot pattern" to see what it does. It asks me for the Google username and password, but has no way for me to go back! I know the pattern! The Motorola Droid is free from this problem, when on the forgot password screen, it still allows me to go back to the pattern screen. Very disappointing HTC...

On the other hand, there is a bit of a "hack" that can be used to solve this. Create a new Google account. Then call the locked phone from another phone. While in the call, you have full access to the phone. Press home, go into your settings, and add your new Gmail account into the phone. End the call, go back, and enter your new Gmail info. You may also need to enable Wifi while the call is still connected, I'm not sure if 3G will work for the sync while the phone is "locked".

Exactly how are you locked out? If you're stuck on the lock-out screen with a lockout pattern that you've forgotten? If that's the case, the G1 manual indicates the following:
"When you fail to draw the correct unlock pattern on the screen after five attempts, you will be prompted to wait for 30 seconds before you can try again. If you forgot your screen unlock pattern, touch Forgot pattern. You will be prompted to sign in using your Google Account name and password, and create a new screen unlock pattern before the Home screen displays."
