Dremel 395 Variable Speed Multipro Rotary Tool Kit Logo
Posted on Jun 13, 2011

I'm currently using a Dremel Multipro model 395 type 5 rotary tool. I was making a few cuts and after approximately 15-20 minutes of total usage, it simply stopped working. It seems to be an escalating issue because every time I turn it on, it seems like the tool last for a shorter and shorter duration. After the initial problem, simply flipping the switch on will not cause the drill to start. Being unfamiliar with the tool (originally a friend's), I thought that the two plastic screws to the side of the switch may have something to do with it. When I pressed on them, the drill would start and run for about 3 minutes. This may be pure coincidence, though. I'm not entirely keen on buying a new drill, so are there any solutions that you can recommend?

Check the brushes (under the two plastic screws). Link to manual:- https://mdm.boschwebservices.com/MDMCache/English%20%5BUS%5D//t10/0000000/r00129v-1.pdf

I took apart my Dremel 395 Type 3 and the spring popped out for the shaft lock. Where does the spring attach to?

It doesn't attach anywhere, that's why it popped out. It should just fit in a recess, pushing the lock button outward.

I had a dremel passed down to me but don't know what it is for. Please advise how I can make use of this tool.

http://www.dremel.com/en-us/projectsandcommunity/projects/Pages/default.aspx

this website is directly from dremel. It shows different projects, crafts, or hobbies you can use it for. It is a real simple tool to use, and also is very handy. You can obtain several types of bits for it ones for sanding, engrving, cutting all types of materials, and much much more. Hope this helps

How do you attach "multipurpose cutting kit model 565" to the dremel multipro model 395?

Remove the collet nut and collet then unscrew the sealing cap (black plastic ring), this has the same thread as the inner of the multi kit tool, so just screw on the tool then replace the collet and nut

How do I attach tools to my Dremel?

hello. You loosen the arbor at the base of the shaft closest to the tool. There is a tiny wrench in the kit that came with the dremel, or you can use a pair of pliers to loosen it. Joe

How do i take the bit off of a dremel multipro model395 type 5

unscrew the collet nut, and then if it's still stuck, tap the end of the bit on the table or something solid. It'll come loose then.

I own a Dremel model 395 type 5 variable speed and it suddenly stopped working. I was wondering if it was common for the switches to go bad or if it's known for other parts to cause it not to turn on.

I would recommend going to Dremel.com and asking their tech section about this. I have one also and mine works fine other than a small amount of heat at the spindle area.

Switch

Definitely not Home Depot. Try googling 'dremel model 395 switch', you'll probably come up with something. If not, there's always dremel themselves. This is a current model so there shouldn't be any real problem getting parts.
Sorry, don't know about installation, but I can tell you most of these dremels are real easy to fix in general, not complicated at all.
