I have a Heatslave 12/14 oil-fired combi boiler installed approx 8 years ago. A problem has just developed on the domestic hot water side. My local heating engineer has investigated but so far hasn't been able to fix it. The boiler is firing and water in the heatslave tank is heating up. However turning on a hot tap only produces cold water. All components appear to be working incl pump and flow switch. The central heating side appears to be working okay. Can anyone suggest a solution please? Thanks. Ian

Symptoms sound like crossover might be part of problem:
Crossover is when cold water enters hot water line due to faulty plumbing part like check valve, mixing valve, or bad faucet cartridge.

My boiler dosent come on i have no hot water but when i turn the heating on boiler works but still no hot water what should i do

Hot water is gravity fed through your pipes. When you turn the faucet on the water will flow through the pipes. If your hot water heater is natural gas driven relight the pilot. Same if oil fueled. If electrical, check fuse to see if it has blown or the circuit breaker has tripped. If either has tripped, replace it and if it blows again the heater has a serious failure, you might need to buy a new one. If pilot won't light on gas unit, try relighting after 5 minutes, could be a bad thermocouple.

No Hot Water

Hard water contains a lot of minerals and depending on how hard the water is also depends on how often you must replace the filters. A much better alternative is to have a water softener installed before your hot water heater and any other sorce of domestic water supplying your home. I have one and it works great. Just be advised that you will need to replace the salt crystals every couple of months depending on the time intervals you set the timer to. If you find that the water still remains soft after two months and your filters are not to badly clogged then you may try adding salt every three or four months and see if that solves your problem. You also have to remember that your also using the water for drinking cooking and bathing so softening your water supply is very important especially if you or anyone in your household ever had any kidney stones or kidney problems.

Good luck,

Marty

Hi, I've a fagor feb20e Eco plus combi boiler in

There is a flow sensor in the circuit and it is not sensing the lower flow from just the hot water. When you put it on heat though it does.
