You have some pictures located on your Desktop.Right?
OK,just insert your flash drive to your computer. It will be automatically opened, but cancel it.choose the picture which you want to copy to flash drive.right click on the selected picture and select "send to" there you will see your flash drive, just left click on that.your selected picture will be copied to your flash drive.followup this method to rest of the pictures. Remove the flash drive after copied.

insert the flash drive to your laptop.it will be automatically opened .select "Open folder to view files".there you will see the pictures you have already copied.while holding "Ctrl" button press letter "A".pictures will be highlighted .right click on any picture and select "send to",there you will see "My documents"just left click on that.pictures will be copied to My document in your laptop.

Enjoy

Hi. All you have to do is:

- Insert your new USB flashdrive in an empty USB slot in your desktop computer.

- A new window will appear and will ask you what you want to do with that device... Choose "Open folder to view files".

- Then just leave it there and go to the file(s) you want to copy, right click on i and click "copy"

- Go back to your USB folder, right click on an empty space on that folder and click "paste". That will copy the files into your USB flashdrive.

- Remove the USB flashdrive from your desktop.

- Insert it into your laptop's empty USB slot.

- A new window will appear and will ask you what you want to do with that device... Choose "Open folder to view files".

- Highlight all the files you want to copy from USB flashdrive folder, right click and click "cut".

- Go to your laptops folder where you want to copy the files, right click on an empty space and click "paste".

Thanks for using Fixya!

Very slow cpy speed

If your computer only supports USB1 then this flash drive will be slow in copying.
To get USB2 speed performance you may be able to upgrade your BIOS yo support USB2.

I want to transfer data from my dial-up desktop, to my new laptop high-speed broadband. How?

Several ways:
1.) 4GB flash drive
2.) External USB drive (320GB or more)
3.) Burn CD or DVD on the desktop and copy to the laptop
4.) Connect them in a local or ad hoc network (not too easy)
I'm sure other expers will have more ideas...

Anyway, at the desktop, run the "Files and Settings Transfer Wizard" to gather your desktop info, such as favorites, desktop icons, My Documents, etc:
[Start]
[All Programs]
[Accessories]
[System Tools]
[Files and Transfer Wizard] [Next]
At the desktop, answwer [Old Computer] [Next]
Cintinue to answer the questions
If you have a lot of music or loots of pictures, then just transfer the "Settings Only".

After a successful transfer of the settings, run the wizard again and transfer your "Data Only"

Hope this gets you started.

Removal of pictures

Have you tried this. Put the flash drive into you usb port. Go to my computer, find what drive your flash is in, open the drive. select the pictures to copy. I know this sounds to simple, but it is sometimes the simple things we overlook.
hope this helps
