Can't start chainsaw

Walter:

gently run the fuel and air mixture screws on the carburetor all the way closed (clockwise).then turn them out one and a quarter turns each. That setting should allow the saw to start if you are getting fuel to the carburetor. Once the saw starts, make fine adjustments to the fuel/air mixture screws until the saw runs to your satisfaction.

Cs310 bad oiler

This saw does not have the power that I was used to. However, I used my big Stihl to cut down the trees and switched saws to do the trim work. I had no problem starting or restarting the saw. It was easy to pull and started quickly. The chain did need to be tightened several times but that is normal with a new saw and chain. Other then being a little under powered, I found this saw to be light, easy to handle and overall a good saw."

I was wondering if there is anything I can do about the oil leaking. I have a hitachi cs33eb it is brand new.

The oil pipe is poorly fitted to the oil pump and allows bar/chain oil to sneak past the seal. Buying a new oil pipe may not fix the issue since this is common on brand-new saws. Warranty work probably won't help you.

How I fixed my saw: I bought two small O-rings about the diameter of the oil pump and fitted them to act as hose clamps around the oil pipe. See attached picture. It worked perfectly and now my saw runs out of fuel before oil. Sears/Craftsman have a great video on how to remove the clutch assembly.

What are the steps to getting the chain saw started and idling? What are next steps to cut tree limbs and oil the chain? This chain saw was given to me without a manual.

If you are a complete novice you should seek some training before attempting to use the machine, as you do not say what model this is we will go through basic starting procedures, fill the fuel tank with fresh fuel mixed with two stroke oil at 25-1, fill the chain oil tank with a non fling chain oil, switch the ignition switch to on, pull the choke fully out, push in the deco valve if fitted, place the machine on the ground, with the tip of the bar away from any obstructions, put your right foot through the back handle to hold the saw down, place your straightened left arm and hand onto the top handle again to hold the machine, now with your right hand crank the engine until it fires once, at this point push the choke fully back in, crank the engine once again until it fires up, flick the trigger to dissengage the part throttle , the machine should now idle.
Be carefull.
