Check the battery of the remote control, if it's week, change the battery. If still not working, bring it to a qualified electronic technician if they could still fix the remote control, if can't be fix buy a new remote control.

Need to find a remote for an old Quorum ceiling fan model HC1131

There are places that sell the whole thing. Just a remote wont be available and you will have to replace the receiver in the fan unit.

The remote controls the fan speed but wont dim or control the light. the unit wont work if the light switch is off so I cant use the fan at all unless the light is turned on

mcdevito75 here, Generally the Ceiling fan motor is hooked up by-passing the wall switch but still to the hot laed going to the wall switch whlie the lights are hooked up to the hot lead after the wall switch, So without the remote, Manually operate your fan and lights. First with the wall switch off the fan should work and the lights no work. Now turn the fan off with the pull chain on the fan shroud close to the ceiling. Now turn wall switch on and lights should work with wall switch and the fan should also work. if so, re-program the remote or change the batteries or even re--place the remote.

Light remote control stopped working

most of my fan controls have done this to me. you know the reciever is working cuz the fan works fine. you need to dis assemble the remote completely and clean the contacts for the light button. mine are two small black dots that seem to keep getting slimey and wont work till i clean them, then all works like brand new again.

good luck.

Remote control

in the remote and the fan the little blue box is called a dip switch
you will have to open fans base to access the remote power sender
on both the fan and remote the dip switches have to match in order for the remote to work the fan properly
or your signal will never make it to remote box
