Have you ever wondered, 'how do I descale my expresso machine?' First lets us understand what is exactly is scaling. The build up of minerals inside the hot parts of your coffee machine or espresso machine is commonly called lime scale. When lime scale builds up inside the Espresso machine, it slows down the water flow, reduces the boiler capacity and can prevent your coffee machine from working properly. To keep your Espresso machine operational at full order, it is important to descale it every three months. The time intervals between descaling depend upon many factors. Quality of your water and the amount of water running through the machine are the two main factors that decide the frequency at which you should descale your Espresso machine. The more you your machine, more often should you descale it. In some cities, in conjunction with a water filter you can use your coffee machine for a year or more without descaling at all. If you use less water by drinking espressos you'll need to descale less often than if you make cappuccinos.

Descaling products are widely available from stores that sell coffeemakers and espresso machines. Be sure that the product you buy to descale your Espresso machine is intended for this specific use only. Before you descale your Espresso machine, always unplug it and make sure that it is cold. Also, never immerse the appliance in water and nor should you use abrasive cleaning products or scouring materials on any part of your Expresso machine. In case your Espresso machine does not come with a instruction guide or booklet, then use a proper citric acid based descaling solution designed for espresso machines. This should be mixed and prepared as per the instructions on the bottle or packet. Once your Espresso machine has been descaled properly you would not be left wondering, 'how do I descale my expresso machine?', treat yourself to a great cup of coffee. Some popular models of Espresso machines are Krups EA8080 Espresseria Automatic, DeLonghi Magnifica EAM3200S, Krups Nespresso CitiZ & Milk XN 7106 Fire-engine red, DeLonghi Perfecta ESAM5400, DeLonghi PrimaDonna ESAM6600, DeLonghi Magnifica ESAM4200S, DeLonghi Perfecta ESAM5500 and Magimix Nespresso Citiz M190.

How do I get a manual for my Mr Coffee BVMCPSTX91-WN? the clean light is on and I don't how how to clean it or how to get the light off

The Mr Coffee web site has the manual on the product page: http://www.mrcoffee.com/coffee-makers/mr.-coffee-optimal-brew-10-cup-thermal-coffeemaker-black/BVMC-PSTX91.html . Click on the Service and Support tab. The direct link to the manual is http://demandware.edgesuite.net/aamb_prd/on/demandware.static/Sites-mr-coffee-Site/Sites-mr-coffee-Library/default/v1426159971356/documents/instruction-manuals/BVMC-PSTX91_43_72624326.PDF . (You'll need Adobe Reader or a similar program to print the manual.)

The Clean light will come on when the Clean button is held. It won't go off until the cleaning cycle is complete; it's completely automated. You need 4 cups (20 oz.) of white vinegar or the Mr. Coffee Cleaner (diluted as directed on the package). Make sure to remove the water filter disk from the unit before cleaning. Pour the vinegar or cleaning solution into the reservoir into the reservoir. Put in a paper coffee filter or the permanent filter into the brew basket and slide it into place. Put the empty decanter in place. Now you should press the Clean button until the Clean light comes on. The unit should slow brew 3 cups of the cleaning solution and then pause for about 30 minutes while the Clean light remains on. It should then brew the remaining solution. After the cycle finishes, the Clean light should go off. Afterwards, you need to empty the decanter and rinse it with clean water. Fill the reservoir with fresh, clean water. Then replace the decanter. The cycle could take an hour.

I hope this helps.

(some brewing systems light the Clean lamp when it's time to clean the unit after lime deposits build up. To my knowledge, most of the Mr. Coffee brewers do not.)

Reset clean light

Did you clean the machine? When you went through the cleaning steps it should have cleared the clean light. I will tell you what to push first Remove the front cover. If the machine is operating then push and release the harvest button. When the machine completes the Harvest cycle it will stop. Push and release the OFF button. Push and release the clean button. The yellow clean light will blink and display will show C. The machine will drain the reservoir and refill it. Go into the next step when the reservoir has filled. Allow the the ice machine to circulate water for at lest 10 minutes. Normally this is when you would add your cleaning solution but i take it you have already cleaned the machine. Now push and release the Clean button again. The yellow Clean light will be on continuously and the machine will drain and refill the reservoir repeatedly to purge out the ice machine. Now Allow the drain and refill process to continue for at least 20 minutes. Now Push and release the OFF button. The clean cycle will stop and the display will show 0. Now push and release the on button. This should have cleared the yellow clean light. Now with that out of the way if it did not clear it then you will need to replace the control board. The machine will steel make ice with no problem and you just clean the machine every 6 mounts. The yellow clean light is just to remind you that it is time to clean the system. The board is quite costly.

Decalcification
Decalcification refers to the removal of calcium
deposits which form over time on the metal
parts of the coffeemaker.
For best performance from your Brew Central
Thermal™ Coffeemaker, decalcify the base unit
from time to time. The frequency depends upon
the hardness of your tap water and how often
you use the coffeemaker. The flashing Clean
light will indicate when you should clean your
coffeemaker.
If the Clean light begins to flash when the
coffeemaker is turned on, it is telling you that
the calcium buildup is interfering with the
functioning of your coffeemaker and the flavor
of your coffee. To clean, fill the water reservoir to
capacity with a mixture of ¹⁄³ white vinegar and
²⁄³ water. Press the Clean button. When the self
clean light glows, turn the coffeemaker on by
pressing the on/off button. The Clean light will
shine steadily. The coffeemaker is now in Clean
mode. One cycle should be sufficient to
adequately clean the coffeemaker. When the
cycle is completed and the five beeps sound,
the coffeemaker will shut off. Turn the
coffeemaker ON to see if the Clean light
continues to flash. If it does, turn it to OFF and
then repeat the cleaning procedure with a fresh
solution of vinegar and water.
If the Clean light no longer flashes, turn the
coffeemaker to OFF and then run one cycle of
fresh cold water through the unit before using
the unit again to brew coffee.
Notes on the Clean F unction
Pressing the Clean button cancels all other
settings. If it is pressed accidentally, press it
again to return the coffeemaker to all its
previous settings. Pressing ON/OFF will also exit
the Clean Mode and turn the coffeemaker OF
