Our Dualit toaster doesn't work. The red light doesn't work. I have changed the fuse in the socket with a working one. The timer turns normally. Yet none of the heating units heats up. Once the bottom part removed, it looks as if all wires are well connected. Any thoughts on the issue? It is a Dualit toaster, three slices, model 31213, Many thanks in advance for your help, Eric

You need to replace the timer-contactor. This part is acting both as timer and electrical contactor. It consist from electrical contact moved with springs on and off. Due to electrical load and extreme heat these contact have been tear out thus they can not contact properly and in your case they don't contact at all.
So from the web page of dualit or ebay you can order A new timer contactor and replace it.

I put a knife in the toaster while toasting, and it sparked at the impact site and now it doesn't work. Any idea what I fried & which part/parts I will need?

Fist check the fuse in the socket or braker.
then if it is ok check the timer switch it might burn but this if all elements are not working,
Finnaly one wire from the bottom might be cut off you visual check it.

I'm having problems with the dial you turn to turn on the toaster. It will not stay on, just turns back to off position. The toaster will work if I stand and hold the dial on the entire time...

try turning it all the way on if it's a timer switch,, then rotate back, If its just a on off switch, your going to have to replace it, unfortunatly its in the UK and thats the only place I could locate it,, but heres the link for that

Timer switch on Dualit 89100 1500 Watts Toaster Oven does not work so oven cannot be used. Any advice? If you turn timer all the way to 120 minutes and hold it the light in the oven will go on but no heat.

The timer switch is likely bad. Small convection ovens are notorious for this problem and switches may be difficult to find. Try smallapplianceparts.com or search "small appliance parts" for a few places that sell parts. You will need the make and model # of your oven.
