Hi. Regarding sms/txt. When I exceed 450 characters it automatically converts the sms/txt to mms. How can I prevent this? Sms is cheaper than mms when you send it.

All SMS messages are restricted to 160 characters, regardless of service provider. If you want to send a longer message then split it into more than one message or it will automatically be sent as a MMS.

In some devices the message type gets converted from SMS text message to MMS multimedia message if the message length exceeds the device-specific setting which is typically 5 - 10 SMS submessages (around 760-1520 characters). If the message is longer, it is converted to MMS to avoid potential issues in handling long text messages in the recipient device. The cost of a SMS message consisting of several concatenated submessages may also be higher than the cost of a single MMS message.
The conversion from SMS text message to MMS multimedia message occurs when the automatic message type is selected in the message options. This is the default mode where the device tries to automatically select the best mode for the message.
The conversion from SMS to MMS can be avoided by selecting Options > Sending options > Message type > Text when in the Text message window writing the message. The message is then always sent as SMS text message and no conversion to MMS occurs.
The maximum number of concatenated SMS submessages can be up to 10 (around 1520 characters). In multimedia mode the message length can be longer.

The capacity of my sms message has only 90 character.when it exceed it will converted into MMS.

Android converts SMS into MMS if the size of the SMS is longer than 3 pages.

In standard android system, there is an option to solve this but not in Samsung units, unfortunately.

I would suggest you try other Messaging alternatives in the Market and see if they have solution to it.

That cannot be fixed. SMS text messages are limited to 160 characters each. When the message exceeds 160 characters, it is automatically broken into separate texts. It's just the way SMS works.

Depending on the model of the phone, there is a limit to the amount of charecters that a sms message can hold. When you go over the limit it automatically becomes an mms message. You can try to send multiple sms messages instead of one long one.

It is doing this because most carriers only support 140-160 characters per sms message.  Once you are over your carriers limit per message the phone is made to change it from an sms to an mms message.  Naturally when you send media it goes through mms so that is the default symbol for mms on your phone.  MMS supports up to 1000 characters per a message.  So in order to continue using sms you need to keep your messages at 140 characters or less including spaces

could be a fault on the phone and you should take the phone back and have it looked at.
