Poor reception when connected to cable (no cable box); DVD player will NOT accept discs

Recently moved 26" Polaroid TV from another home where it was configured to receive IPTV service. When connected to the cable, the picture is very fuzzy---like poor antenna recption. There is NO cable box. There are other televisions in the house which have good reception.

The built-in DVD player will NOT accept discs---feels "tight" when I try to inset them. When I try to operate from the remote, using INPUT, the DVD sign comes up in the corner, then TV shuts OFF within a few seconds?????????????

Model # TDA-02610C

Delayed sound

May I assume you're not trying to watch the movie on a cooktop?

On what device are you trying to watch the movie? From a DVD, or streaming from some website?

How to play dvd

If you are using the built-in DVD tray, press TV (in case you have a Cable Set-top box). Then press Input and navigate with the up/down keys to the line labeled DVD. Then press OK. Finally press play on the Polaroid TDA-03211C remote or on the side of the TV. The remote play button is in the center of the row below the row with skip reverse and skip forward buttons.

If you are using a different DVD player, press the input button and then the up/down arrows to get to the input for your DVD player. Then press the DVD button to control the DVD player.

If you are using a universal remote control, then you may need to program it to the TV and the DVD player separately. (Some universal remotes may only support the TV functions of this TV.) Make sure that your universal remote has an input button that works. You may need to try multiple codes for Polaroid TVs.

I hope this helps.

(note: the DVD must be correctly installed so that the printed side (label) is facing the front of the TV. If you do not get a response, try the disc in another DVD player. The DVD player laser tracking can fail without warning. If the disc plays in other units, this may be the problem.)

I have a Polaroid 26"

It is a bad tuner, the tuner needs changed or the tuner module and that will take care of your problem.

I have a samsung42 inch flat screen and a dvd and a sky plus box and avhs recorder could show me how to do the set up connections please

If you have a blueray or HD DVD player I would connect using a gold plated HDMI cable from the TV to the DVD, make sure that you buy the correct HDMI version for your TV. If you don't have a HS DVD player recorder then use a HQ SCART as below.

Most SKY+ boxes still have a SCART connection I suggest that you buy a HQ gold plated ribbon connector to connect the SKY to one of your AV (audio visual) channels. The benefit of using SCART is that it will autoselect the AV channel when SKY is taken out of standby.

You will not need to connect using co-axial cables these are pretty much redundant now as you can get all your channels through your SKY dish.

Also if you live in a poor reception area and your TV has freeview built in SKY is your better option.

My polaroid dvd player keeps reporting "Bad Disc" on discs that play just fine in other DVD players. What can I do to fix this problem?

Is the movie a copy or an original, some copies do not work in all machines, some will accept a dvd-R but will not work with a dvd+R except if you have a brand new unit, they usually accept most discs, the older dvd players are not compatable with all blank dvd's...Steve
