Check this link, usually if the power light blinks a certain amount of times its a code. I have a sony TV also and it did the same thing turned out it the lamp need replacement.

Just because it doesn't look broken doesn't mean it hasn't failed.
Is the TV over 2 years old?
If so, buy just the bulb (not the whole lamp assy) from us at sedonix.com, install it yourself and save about 75% of what Mitsubishi charges.
