I cannot find a quick way to tape for say an hour like a OTR button, all I can find is the record button, no good to stop if I am not here or go through the long process of setting up.
I am frustrated with this model, I hate the fact that it won't record with a disc in it......I know, I know it will stop overwriting BUT very annnnoyyying.
Hope you can help with one of my frustrations of this OTR.
Many thanks for any help Kind regards J
I have the same probelm. When i try one-touch recording it just starts to record. There is no table or action for setting a period to record.
According to the manual I should be able to set the recording time length in steps.
Yes it is a machine fault.
You will need to upgrade the firmware
Send it to the authorised service centre and they will upgrade the firmware for you for free
Cheers
I don't know this exact model, but other Panasonic models have similar functions. Usually the OTR option allows you to start recording easily and is not designed to have any other options associated with it. To set timed recordings, there is a sequence of steps required. The OTR is for recording when you are present. I will confirm this with Panasonic and update this.

I could not find your specific model (EH57), but did find the model EH75 which had the following sequence for performing the task you wish. It aas taken from the user's manual. I hope this helps,
Dan
During recording
Press [¥, REC] to select the recording time.
≥You can also press [¥, REC] on the main unit.
≥You can specify up to 4 hours later.
≥The unit display changes as shown below.
Counter (Cancel) # OFF 0:30 # OFF 1:00 # OFF 1:30
^------- OFF 4:00 ! OFF 3:00 ! OFF 2:00 !----------}
≥This does not work during scheduled recordings (l 32) or while
using Flexible Recording (l 30).
≥If you change the channel or recording mode while recording is
paused, the time specified to stop recording is canceled. (Except
[VHS])
To cancel
Press [¥, REC] several times until the counter appears.
≥The time to stop recording is canceled; however, recording
continues.
To stop recording partway
Press [∫, STOP].

I have read the advice but does not add anything to a solution. The advise is a quote from the manual, I have the manual and this does not work. IE There is nowhere to specify the length of the recording. The machine just starts to record when I re
press the record button. Noting else happens with repeated presses, and stops when I press the stop button. Is this a machine fault.
