Accessing the internal light bulb on model KBMC140HSS bulb will require you to remove the oven from the wall.
If so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.
You can download Whirlpool / Kitchenaid owner's manuals and installation instructions http://www.whirlpool.com/custserv/index.jsp
You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number from the tag on the oven http://www.appliancepartspros.com/.
These models use halogen lamps. You must not touch the new one with your bare skin, as the oils will shorten the bulb life.

Hello
& Welcome to FixYa To
replace the light bulb first remove the screws located on the vent grill at the
top of the microwave, tilt the grill back and then pull away to remove. After
this open the light cover , you have to remove the screws so that you can
discard the old light bulb and then replace it with a new one. Please get back
to me if you have any other questions. Kevin

Are you looking at model KBMC140HSS03. This is not working for us.
We removed the grill under the control panel and the microwave box. There is no way to get to the light bulb.
We cannot figure out how to get the light bulb out of the microwave model KBMC140HSS03.
Kevin told us to unscrew the vent on top of the microwave. We did this but still no access. We unscrewed the vent between the control panel and the microwave box. Don't believe this is the vent he was talking about.
