My iPad asks me to type IP address http://192.168.1.3:8080. Why doesn't anything happen when I do?

When you connect to Wifi and if it shows "obtaining IP address" means it is searching for the IP address of the wifi sender...
when you connect to internet it is done through IP address so your phone is tying to locate an IP address with which it can connect
to the internet. Below are the steps to connect your device to Wifi:
Applications-->settings-->turn Wifi ON-->select the wifi that you want to connect from the list displayed-->enter the network password(if it asks for) -->connected Another easy way...just open the chrome app in your phone and try typing in some website like google.com when it tries to connect a pop up will appear "try connecting to WiFi ..mobile data will incur charges.." something of that sort...and you can click connect to wifi...and automatically it will detect the wifi that is around your location. You can check for your IP address through Ip-details.com

That is the address that your internet provider uses. Go into google and find your Internet address bt looking up your internet provider. They're all basically the same only some with slight variation

2. On your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > WiFi
3. click on the Network you are currently connected to
4. In the DNS field, replace the existing IPs with the unblock-us IPs, separated by commas: 208.122.23.22,208.122.23.23
5. Restart your iPad/iPhone to take into account the new parameters
6. with your iPad or iPhone's browser, go to unblock-us.com and make sure you log-in with the credentials they gave you for the free trial. The site should tell you if everything's alright at that point
7. Run Netflix and enjoy

If the creator of this app did not design an iPad interface to address the larger screen the only way you can use this app on the iPad is in iPhone-Display-Mode which is in portrait rotation.

The iPad displays a little (1X) or (2X) button in the lower right corner to switch between zoomed twice and regular view. That is not part of the app.

You can't do anything about this but nicely asked the author of the app to add an iPad interface to his app.

You don't assign an IP address to your iPad, it has one assigned to it by your router.

Open the Settings app on your iPad. Make sure Airplane Mode is OFF. Tap Wi-Fi. Make sure the Wi-Fi switch is ON, Ask to Join Networks is ON. Your in-home wi-fi network should be visible in the list titled Choose a Network.... Tap its name and provide the network password required by your router.

If you don't see your local router listed, it may not be properly configured.

connect other device. If connected then the router is OK. But if not, reset the router( or just power off then wait for about a minute or more then power it on).

or in your ipad, go to settings>>>>> then general>>> then reset>> select reset network settings.

You have to go into Settings -> Mail, calendar ... and add a new mail account as "Other". Put in your email address anywhere you see user name. Choose the POP type of account - IMAP won't work. Use the following for settings:

• incoming server: mail.nexicom.net
• user: your email full address
• password: your password
• outgoing server: outgoing.nexicom.net
• user: your full email address
• password: your password

Tap "Next" and it will likely fail and ask if you want to connect without SSL. Tap "Yes" and you should get all green checkmarks and mail should now work. :v)

You have to manually setup the ip address in the network settings. The router that you have can not assign the iPad an address.
