I recharged my 6300 battery and now, when I switch the phone on, the screen flashes twice and the phone switches off. A couple of weeks ago the keypad wouldn't work but it came right so I didn't worry about it. Now I am 'cos the phone won't work at all - have I done something "wrong"?! I have tried taking out the battery, memory card and sim then replacing just the battery and sim, then adding the memory card but still nothing! I'm hoping someone can help cos I can't get to a Nokia centre until next week! Many thanks, Susan

Try to do a hard reset!

The method of performing a hard-format, i.e resetting it completely to factory defaults and removing all data, is as follows:
  1. Switch off the phone.
  2. Hold down the following three buttons: Green (call answer) button, * button, and '3' button
  3. While holding these buttons, press the power button and switch on the phone
  4. When the message 'Formatting' appears on the screen, release all of the buttons
Note that you shouldn't switch the phone off or remove the battery when performing either of these operations, and it's advised that the handset has a reasonable amount of battery charge before performing a format/reset. As data will be lost, you are advised to perform a backup first.

If this method doesn't work you probably will need to go to a Nokia Service Centre and have your phone flashed!

Flashing on and off

well that and unlocking the phone voids your warranty. First try taking your battery out and then holding down the # and * keys while you put the battery back in. If it didn't automatically load to a black screen displaying your software version, power it on while holding down those keys. once you've reached this screen let go of the keys and power it on normally. If that doesn't work reply to this post and I will troubleshoot further.
