Hello, welcome to FixYa.
I'll start by saying your post indicates it is a LG dryer "doesn't turn on", however if you could post the complete model number I can speak directly about possible remedies instead of generalizing. It would also be helpful if you could clarify what you mean by "it doesn't turn on"...if it won't start or there is no display or anything.
I hope you can appreciate there are many possible scenarios so I'll need to clarify the model number before detailing much of course. The one thing I'd suggest you try in the meantime unplug the dryer for 30 minutes and see of a control reset will work (depending on the model it may or may not).
Initially it sounds like a control problem...but it could be a poor connection too.Thank you for choosing FixYa. I'll need to watch for your reply before moving forward.

Macmarkus :)
Hello again, 1. Unit must be in Standby (unit plugged in, display off) 2. press POWER while pressing MORE TIME, and LESS TIME simultaneously. Immediately you should see the display illuminate...if not let me know and I'll try and trouble shoot some points...but you'll need a multi-meter/tester.
sorry I missed your reply but thank you for providing the model number and the further details I requested.
So it is indeed completely dead, OK. There is power at the socket...so where the dryer plugs in there is 240Vac present ?
I'd suggest trying a test program and I can also provide you with a generic service manual for your dryer if you want to post an email address.
To run the diagnostic (just to see if it will power up) is as follows...
The service manual I have is for the DLE series (just not the 2050w) and covers several models, but I can tell you from experience the components are the same as yours with the exception of control part numbers, testing, dis-assembly and all are the same.
I'll watch for your reply, but it is getting late (11pm) where I reside so I'll be calling it a night very soon so if you can hold off until around 7-8am mtn time (north america) or reply quickly I can get the manual to you.

Macmarkus :)
Hello again,
Based on your last post and knowing the unit will not enter the diagnostic, and you've confirmed the unit is getting power, then unfortunately you have a bad PCB assembly (main power board).
That's the bad news. The good news is it isn't extremely expensive and is available at most brick & mortar appliance parts places (at least in urban centers...you may need to try on-line if in an rural location).
It will resemble the image shown here and list for around $110.00U.S. at places such as "searspartsdirect.com" or "repairclinic.com" to name a couple.
If you need guidance in how to replace it when you have the part on hand, let me know and I'll help in any manner I can of course.
Regards,
Macmarkus :)
