Hello, welcome to FixYa.

I'll start by saying your post indicates it is a LG dryer "doesn't turn on", however if you could post the complete model number I can speak directly about possible remedies instead of generalizing. It would also be helpful if you could clarify what you mean by "it doesn't turn on"...if it won't start or there is no display or anything.

I hope you can appreciate there are many possible scenarios so I'll need to clarify the model number before detailing much of course.
The one thing I'd suggest you try in the meantime unplug the dryer for 30 minutes and see of a control reset will work (depending on the model it may or may not).

Initially it sounds like a control problem...but it could be a poor connection too.Thank you for choosing FixYa. I'll need to watch for your reply before moving forward.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

    Hello again,

sorry I missed your reply but thank you for providing the model number and the further details I requested.

So it is indeed completely dead, OK. There is power at the socket...so where the dryer plugs in there is 240Vac present ?

I'd suggest trying a test program and I can also provide you with a generic service manual for your dryer if you want to post an email address.

To run the diagnostic (just to see if it will power up) is as follows...

    1. Unit must be in Standby (unit plugged in, display off)

    2. press POWER while pressing MORE TIME, and LESS TIME simultaneously.

Immediately you should see the display illuminate...if not let me know and I'll try and trouble shoot some points...but you'll need a multi-meter/tester.

The service manual I have is for the DLE series (just not the 2050w) and covers several models, but I can tell you from experience the components are the same as yours with the exception of control part numbers, testing, dis-assembly and all are the same.

I'll watch for your reply, but it is getting late (11pm) where I reside so I'll be calling it a night very soon so if you can hold off until around 7-8am mtn time (north america) or reply quickly I can get the manual to you.

    Regards,

    Macmarkus :)

    Hello again,

Based on your last post and knowing the unit will not enter the diagnostic, and you've confirmed the unit is getting power, then unfortunately you have a bad PCB assembly (main power board).

That's the bad news. The good news is it isn't extremely expensive and is available at most brick & mortar appliance parts places (at least in urban centers...you may need to try on-line if in an rural location).

It will resemble the image shown here and list for around $110.00U.S. at places such as "searspartsdirect.com" or "repairclinic.com" to name a couple.

If you need guidance in how to replace it when you have the part on hand, let me know and I'll help in any manner I can of course.

    Regards,

    Macmarkus :)

Electrical on but dryer does not start

Sounds silly, but because it's an electric dryer, it's run on a 220 line. Double check your breaker box to make sure both breakers are in the correct position. If only one breaker is in the correct position, you'll have electrical power, but the drum won't spin.

The dishwasher doesn't seem to have any electricity.

The fault could be from the wall socket. Troubleshoot with a tester to check if there is electric current running in the socket... If there is, then maybe the fault is from the fridge itself. you can take it to a profession to diagnose and pimpoint the where the fault is actually. Hope it helps...

Emerson 2.8 Cu. Ft. doesn't automatically turn on after power outage

Check breaker. Was there a surge of electricity when the power went out. This may be a simple fix. Sounds like the breaker is tripped. Test the outlet with a light to see that power is to it.

The unit inside the garage doesn't turn on,, the motor doens't do anything but the outside compressor works, it turns on fine but the unit inside does nothing/

It could be one of several reasons why the inside unit is not running - but the most likely reasons are 1. the breaker is off - you need to turn on breaker or reset it if it's been tripped 2. the inside motor is bad and needs replacing 3. you have a problem with the thermostat and it's not turning on the motor 4. a relay or some other electrical component is bad

Obviously, the breaker is the easiest solution and I'm hoping that's all that's wrong with your unit.
If it is not the breaker - the other things need to be checked out which may or may not require you calling a serviceman.
