I have a Bravo gas dryer, it runs, heats and tumbles okay but but the clothes do not dry at all and after a while there is a burning odor. the venting is all clear. When I look into the dryer vent, I can see something that looks like it should be turning when the dryer is running but it is not.

Remove the back,, the fan is located on the rear of the motor shaft and has reverse threads, either it is a slip on one with a clamp that has come off, or its running and you just can't tell, either way you may want to check it,, as always ,, be very careful as you do this,, don't touch anything that is connected to electrical

SOURCE: My Miele T8322 Tumble dryer

IS THE DRYER PUSHED UP AGAINST THE VENTING IN THE BACK OF THE DRYER? IT MAY BE CRIMPING THE EXHAUST MATERIAL CAUSING A RESTRICTION.

IF THAT IS O.K., DISCONNECT THE EXHAUST AND RUN A LOAD OF LAUNDRY THROUGH A NORMAL DRY CYCLE.
IF THE DRYER DRIES THAT LOAD O.K., THERE IS A RESTRICTION SOMEWHERE IN THE EXHAUST. ALSO, CHECK THE LINT TRAP. IF THERE IS A WHITE CLOUDY FILM ON THE LINT FILTER, TAKE A WIRE BRUSH AND CLEAN IT OFF. IT IS RESTRICTING THE AIR FLOW AT THE FILTER.

CHECK THE LINT FILTER HOUSING FOR A BUILD UP OF LINT. IF THERE IS, USE A CENTER CARDBOARD FROM WRAPPING PAPER ATTACHED TO THE END OF THE VACUUM HOSE. FLATTEN THE CARDBOARD TO FIT INTO THE FILTER SLOT AND CLEAN OUT THE LINT.

SOURCE: not drying clothes

If the unit is heating properly which it should pull around 25 amps when heating , and the unit is tumbling it is 100% an exhaust issue , either a kinked duct behind the unit , a ball of lint stuck in the duct , lint build up outside in vent , or water in under ground duct. If you find the clog it will be FIXED!
Let me know if you have any other questions.

SOURCE: Dryer air heats up but does not dry the clothes. Just replaced the timer but did not fix the problem. Air vents are cleared.

One of two possiblities:

1. Dryer vent is blocked - check the air coming through the outside vent
2. Blower Fan is clogged - remove the lower front panel and clean out the fan wheel

My clothes smell after drying them

Have you cleaned the dryer? You should clean out the heating coil area at least once a year. Lint can build up and burn and the odor is drawn into the dryer when it runs.

E15 error code on hoover tumble dryer

Controls
  • The control unit on the tumble dryer will vary among different makes and models. The main purpose of the controls is to allow the user to select the drying cycle. You can choose the time and temperature setting on most units, while others allow custom settings such as moisture sensors and end-of-cycle alert signals. The controls may include a dial or a touch panel and LED screen display. Some tumble dryers allow you to independently select the appropriate time for the load you are drying and separate programs for temperature.
Motor
  • The motor inside the tumble dryer spins the basket to allow the clothes to tumble while being dried. The tumbling action allows the air to pass through the clothing to dry them faster. Heating laundry that is stagnant will likely dry the clothing on the outside while leaving damp clothing inside the pile. The constant motion, along with the heat and steam created by heating the clothing, reduces wrinkles. The motor also powers the fan that delivers the heated air to the basket of laundry. The heater can be an electrical element or gas powered.

Clothes not drying

Clothes not drying? Thats it? Does the dryer turn on at all? Does it tumble the clothes but doesn't get warm? If it turns on and tumbles but takes a long time to dry, then your heating element is not working. There is a thermal fuse right before the heating element that will open up if the vent becomes clogged and its gets too hot. The thermal fuse is not resettable and will have to be replaced. If the thermal fuse is o.k. then your heating element could be burned out. These two items almost require an electrical meter to read continuity to check them. Make sure the dryer is unplugged before checking these items.

My dyer heats and tumbles, but doesn't dry

I'd check first for clogged vent hose or clogged lint filter or clogged vent flap on wall (outside).

If that's not a problem, it may be a faulty thermostat. Heating element is probably okay if it heats some of the time.

More info, let me know.

Dryer heats, tumbles clothes, blows air out exhause vent, but wont dry clothes

what type is this electric or gas? have you removed the exsaust from the wall and ran a load like this? if you have heat and this is an electric dryer it sounds like you have a blockage in your house. if the dryer runs fine without the exsaust attached then that is your problem. let me know

LG Gas dryer doesn't dry clothes in one cycle

Have you checked your outside vent while it was running to see if the dryer was venting 100%. If your clothes are hot and humid I would say clean your vent pipe has a blockage and needs to be cleaned out. Also as far as the burning smell you could take the front off (unplug first) the dryer of by removing 4 screws one above and one below the latch and two at the bottom and there are two clips one at the top left and right push in with a puddy knife and lift the top up a couple inches and lift the front up off the bottom holders. Then you will have access to vacuuming the lint that is floating around the burner.
