Be sure your connections are correct.
Press AUDIO SOURCE repeatedly to select
the audio output of the connected device (TV)
There could be audio settings on your TV which you can select only Internal or only external speakers or both. Be sure the setting is correct on your TV.
Be sure your TV and your HTS3510 are not set to "mute"... Don't laugh... I've done it before...
I have checked and even changed the cables. I've selected AUX on the HTS (which is the only external input) and gone through all the possible combinations of audio settings (internal and external speakers) on the TV, and still I get no audio from the TV (incidentally, audio from the DVD is fine). Any further suggestions, please???
It looks like you are set up correctly.
One of 3 things are going on here:
1. The TV is not sending the signal from its audio out jacks
2. The Philips unit is not working correctly
3. The cables are bad
Since #3 hardly ever happens, we are going to focus on 1 and 2.
If you have another device (DVD or receiver) that you can temporarily use to generate audio via the aux connection. I would hook it up and see if the issues continue.
If the issues continue after that, I would contact Philips support that you may have a bad unit.
