make sure the security settings on router is WEP-Personal. I don't know what you have for internet but Dial-up, DSL, and satellite internet will not get NAT 1.
you need to make sure that when you change it that you apply in your modem setup page that bridge mode is activated so that it turns it into a dumb unit allowing just to pass through the internet stream thus allowing constant nat 2 connection
