You have a power supply issue on the main board of your set. This is not an easy fix for a home owner, Your best bet is to call a service shop and get a price quote. Tearing into tv's is very dangerous! High voltage is present even when unplugged! Good luck!

Powersurge. When i turn tv on,clicking sound and would not turn on.Replaced main board. Now it turns on, but is blackscreen and you cant poweroff unless you unplugit.replaced main powersuppy,no change

no, if you have had a power surge then several, if not all, the components may be fried/blown. probably best to take all the bits and give them to a tech to see if a tv can be pieced together.
You should, whether the tv is salvageabl
or not, get, buy the best surge protector you can.
I recommended, elsewher on this website, that everybody should acquire surge protection for their electronic devices.I read countless queries that say "we had a power outage and now such and such no longer works"....yes , because the power outage was a surge that probably blew up electronic devices for several blocks around where you l9ive.
old , uncared for, unserviced infrastructure is costing members of the public a fortune.

My hitachi tv 42hxt12u will not turn on and I have a blue light I can see

You have a light indicator suggesting the power from the wall outlet to the TV is functional. The main circuit board is not powering up due to a short circuit from a power surge or internal fuse outage.

TV won't turn on

there is a surge protector on the main power board this has probably blown. or the main power board fuse or plug fuse. check them one by one. there even may be a secondary fuse in the tv around 3amp witch can blow. it will have red and black lines on it or orange that is the rating of the fuse. surge protector is like a battery shap round with 2 prongs onto the board.

After a 5 second power outage, the tv will not turn on.

Possible that the power while returning had a surge- this happens as the power needs to load up to stabilize . So it is always ideal to switch off power to all electronics devices when the power fails as if you are residing in the vicinity of the transformer then the surge will be high.
This will effect the power supply section which is a SMPS unit. Possible fuse or a driver would have failed.

I had a power outage a couple nights ago, which has caused my television to not turn on. It is a Toshiba model CZ27T31, which was off & plugged into a surge protector at the time the storm knocked the...

Please check if your surge protector is working properly now. There is possibility that the surge protector is blown off due to high voltage surge. Check if your surge protector has a reset switch which some of the surge protectors have. If the problem still persists then you have to call the technician to replace the safety fuse which is inside the TV. The cost will not be much. I will personally recommend that you change your TV as it has outlived its life being 10 yrs old.

Does the Memorex MVD2040 have a fuse that can be replaced? We had a power outage in my area during a storm recently. After the power came back on, my DVD player would not turn on, as if it was not...

Yes there is a fuse!

They are no longer ones that you can change yourself.

Would be best to call a service shop and get an estimate of repair for a blown fuse replacement or my thought is this storm took out the power supply.

If it's a cheep DVD player it would be better to go out and buy a new one or upgrade to the newer Blue Ray player.

Surge protectors are meant to trip whenever an outage occurs to prevent component damage. If possible remove back panel and check if any fuses were burned. If all looks normal then your component is most likely fried.

No Power to my TV after power outage

A lot of times its simply a fuse that goes out. Either way someone is going to have to open it up and inspect the fuses first. It 's a fairly inexpensive service call.

Hopefully the fuse took the hit from the storm.

TV wont turn on due to power outage

I know it's been a while since you have sent this request, but if you havn't gotten any help or repaired the set by now, I'll try to help if I can. Your set has a seperate power supply board internally. The fuse could be burned out on that board. Also if you did in fact get a power surge, you may have a capacitor or a series of capacitors bad. Check the fuse first and if this is not the problem, I suggest you replace the power supply board as they are not real expensive. Good luck and I hope this has helped in some way

TV will not turn on.

Are you sure your remote is working ? Did you try using the power button on your set? IF so, then something is wrong inside you set. Possibly a power surge got through your supressor and caused a delayed reaction failure in your power supply. Also some other part may have just decided to fail. You need to have a tech check it out for you. Stargazer
