Game problem

I have been playing tales of symphonia on my wii and have been having problems with it. The game disk is pristine but when i put it in the wii and try to play it it usually says "an error has occurred. Turn the power off and refer to the Nintendo GameCube Instruction Booklet for further instructions." Some times i can get a good amount of playing in like 2-3 hours before this happens while other times it happens immediately. What adds to the veil of mystery is the fact that my wii doesnt do this with with any other game. It also doesn't help that my wii manual is in french. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
