I have a Nikon coolpix s200 digital camera and I cannot download pictures from the camera to my computer, what do I need to do?

A lot of people assume that they must use the cable and sofware that came with the camera in order to download their photos. The problem is that the cable/camera way is very problematic.
This link outlines the solution of the UDB card reader as an excellent alternative to that lost cable, lost software disc, or computer that just fails to recognize the camera, Also note that this method will be cheaper, quicker, and less error prone, than purchasing a new camera specific cable:

You do not need extra software - A Windows comupter will read the camera direct.

You do not need software to upload images to your computer. Simply plug the camera in and the Computer will show it as a new drive in 'My Computer' Windows will put a screen up asking where you want the images placed- just follow the prompts to 'My pictures' or where ever else you want them to go. If you are minus editing software- then do a Google for Picasa' the free one. My advise for all digi camera owners is leave the disc in the box and let Windows do the work.
