Hi ferrojennife,

The E1 you are seeing means Water Level in Drum lowering, this means there is a leak on one of the pipes. More likely it is the Circulation Pump, which is responsible for pushing the water to the Spray arms.

It will have to be replaced, as it is a common spare that has to be replaced on L.G Dishwashers (lifetime expectancy: 12 - 18 Months) - Not very expensive.

Usually is about 20%-25% the price of a new Dishwasher. The Circulation pump is fitted to the sump. Part Number: 5859DD9001A or 5859ED1001A (Depending which one is in stock)

See below a image of what a Circulation Pump looks like:

LG Dishwasher E1 error light came on 2 months ago and would not stop the cycle. I turned off power and cleaned pan and filter. This did the trick.

this error means its leaking into the base of the unit and setting off the leak switch or this error can also mean the motor is overheating, you will need to check if theres water in the base (this will require dismantling) if theres no signs of water or water marks then its probably the motor

I have an LG dishwasher, Model LD-2120WH and lately it starts" -- water goes in but it throws up a E1 message on the display screen, send off an alarm and stops

I've just solved the same problem on my 2120. It started when the pump motor bearing failed and continued after I'd replaced the bearing. According to my handbook the E1 fault is theoretically a water leak but practically it is that the pump is not delivering enough water. In this case the failed bearing had allowed the shaft to wobble about and damage either the rotor or the inside of the pump (it's sealed so you can't strip it). Solution was to replace the pump.

LG dishwasher LD-2120WHU I get the

This happens to my LG dishwasher every 6 months or so. It also makes a groaning sound as if the system is starved for water. The resolve the problem by removing the dishwasher and laying it over on it's right side. I then remove the two plastic assemblies that are on the left side and I remove them from the dishwasher (you will need a vice grips to remove the hose clamps from behind them, you will also need to remove the round circular water intake plastic disk that is on the inside of your dishwasher on the left hand side right in the middle of the left wall) and clean them. Once the water can run freely through these plastic parts you will get a good water flow and you should be fine. Until you have time to do this I recommend putting a few quarts of hot water into your dishwasher once you start to hear the groaning problem. This solution should be very easy for anyone who is comfortable doing their own oil change. Oh, and turn off the power supply first.

LG dishwasher error code E1

E1 is a code that the dishwasher displays after detecting a leak. There is a sensor on the pan at the very bottom of the unit. Take the bottom front panel off, look under the unit at the hose coming off the pump and your fill line to be sure no water is dripping. Run the unit in a wash cycle while doing this if possible.

LG LD-A2T2 Dishwasher returns Error code E1

EI is an error to do with your drain. Check your drain hook up. You should have a loop out side the unit, it should be a minimum 40in in height, or put in a air break. What I believe is happening is your unit is siphoning out. Fix this and you will be able to stop washing the dishes by hand.

E1 error on LG - LD-4120M

E1 is a common error in the LG Dishwasher range and is usually caused by the failure of the circulation pump and/or the impeller.

The motor and impeller are a complete unit.

Often what happens is the impeller breaks on the motor shaft and doesn't spin, therefore doesn't pump water.

There is a pressure sensor which indicates the lack of pressure and shuts the machine down with the E1 error being displayed.

The lack of pressure can also be from a water leak (as the owners manual suggests) also a controller PCB fault may produce an E1 error, however, the pump problem is extremely common.

Unfortunately, I have had 5 pumps die in 4 years and my dishwasher is only used about 4 times a week.
