When I try to print with my Brother PT-1200 label maker, it says "ERR" and does nothing. I changed batteries and the label cartridge but still nothing.

Open the back of the label maker. remove the cartridge. in the lower right hand corner of the where the cartridge fits, there are 3 little posts that are pushed in when you insert the cartridge. find the holes on the cartridge that fit over those posts. cover the holes on the cartridge with tape. reinsert cartridge. try again. worked for me. If you push in the posts individually, you can figure out which one is giving you the error message. I'm not sure that it really makes a difference. I taped over all three holes and it worked fine after that. i realize its not a perfect fix, but may allow you to print anyways!

I changed the cartridge and batteries and still had problems with only 2 vertical lines printing. I stopped using the electrical cord, changed the batteries again and it's now working. Each time I finished using it (which isn't a lot) I take the batteries out and put them back in prior to the next use and that seems to work. It's inconvenient, especially having to keep the batteries used with the label maker, but at least it works.

Brother P-Touch label maker won't print. The tape is feeding out but no letters.

Question edited for clarity and add maker.
There are many models under the P-Touch brand, so generic answers only but in 90% of cases it is an incorrectly seated cartridge..

Too much tape

Hi, it seem your label maker is set to the last(amount) of labels printed. Go to: Print Labels, click; Number of Labels; clear to set to (1) Label. That should stop the run off of labels. Thanks paul70f9

Tape on Brother PT-65 wraps on roller

If the end is already messed up you may need a new cartridge, if you can remove the tape and feed the end under the guide on the cartridge and re-install it should work properly again.

Brother P-Touch 1200 label printer doesn't feed whole label

Take out your cartridge and look at the end of the tape, it should be under the guide, the skinny bar, before going into your machine. Make sure you tuck it in under that bar and it should be OK.

when you have the label maker upside down...
place the cartridge so the WHITE 12mm ect sign is on top.
pull the tape out a bit and pull it up so that it stick out where the tape would print out of.
place the cover back on tightly and turn on..
push CODE, SPACE, it will feed though and you'll be all set.

Dies in the middle of printing lable

Yikes!
It should behave after getting fresh batteries! (They were brand new just out of the package batteries, right?)

If the cartridge is seated down correctly and there is no junk or old tape in the way, then I don't know what could be causing it.

Might be time to call the Brother Help Line at
