My 1993 50in. hitachi ultravision has no picture but still has sound. What can be the problem? A hitachi rep. told me to see if my dvd player shows a picture but I still don't have a picture.

If your unit is truly a 1993 model I'm amazed that it still turns on at all. Usually projection units quit after about 10 to 12 years and are worn out. Judging by the age of the unit the most likely problem area is the high voltage section.
