SOURCE: Casio Z750 says, "Lens Error" on start up, and then shuts down?

A lens error has to be sent into repairs or else you need to buy a new camera. Repairs is 800-706-2534 and then choose extension for repairs.

SOURCE: I have a casio digital camera qv-r52 3x optical zoom when I turn power button on it will not stay on the lens retracts but I can view the pic's on the dish

Katie, Joe alerted me to your problem. The symptoms that you're experiencing suggest that you're experiencing a lens error. Lens errors are fairly common, but there are many causes. Some causes include poor or drained batteries. Or sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...Here are some troubleshooting steps that you can try that may (or may not) correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty (or repair cost approaches that of the camera), they're worth that try. Some of the later steps do involve some risk to the camera, so carefully weigh your options before deciding to conduct them:

Lens error . dropped camara and lens opened and now, when i turn on the camara, lens is open and screen says lens error

does it not extend or retract properly? Try to unstick the lens by gently pushing it in or pulling it out a little bit. IF that fails, the gears are too misaligned to repair it without opening it.

If you're out of warranty, there are third party place that replace them such as camera lens repairs.

If you want to do it yourself, there are also free camera repair guide websites that show you how to replace the lens, the replacement part is usually available on ebay.

Camera powers on like it is going to take a pic then lens retracts

On my EX-Z750 there are two buttons on the top rear, one a right-facing green arrow with a green box around it, the other a red camera icon. If you turn on the camera and accidentally hit the green arrow button you will only be able to review the shots already on the camera. To return to taking pictures, push the red camera icon button.

Switch off and on again? Take battery out and replace. Thats the only 2 ways of 'restarting a camera that I know of. Does your model have a 'reset' function? You will have to check the manual for that. Or ask Canon support.
