This is a 2-part question. You can get ALL speakers to SIMULATE a surround experience from ANY input, even 2-channel analog.

If there is an optical digital audio output on the Dish TV receiver use THAT and the TH-G30 can decode the surround audio properly.

Read up on surround modes in the manual.

How to get sound to tv from JVC TH-M606 without sub woofer. Also trying to put in progressive mode without remote

Hi,
  • If I understand your question correctly you want to listen your TV on your Stereo system thru your receiver,JVC TH-M606 ** you need to connect "Audio Output " RCA jacks or "Optic cable output" of your TV
** to "AUX input " or "TV" OR "Any input" of your receiver ( except Phone ) or "Optic Cable input"
** than just switch to respective mode on
JVC TH-M606 RECEIVER corresponding your RCA or Optic connection...
There you go..Your TV sound is on the
JVC TH-M606 Receiver..By this means whatever you watch on the TV (tuner, satellite , Xbox ) ,it's sound will come thru your stereo..

  • If you want to listen your receiver thru your TV, sorry but it is not a preferable attempt since TV sound system is not a HI-FI quality compare to your nice Receiver..if you really want to do it,try to do the connections given above in reverse..
  • And,best of my knowledge I am afraid you can not put in progressive mode without remote

  • Hope this helps!

I have a JVC G40 DVD home theater system and when I play DVD's the voice and picture don't match up. Specifically, Peoples lips move and then a second later what they say is heard...how do I fix this?

When viewing on Digital TV:-
Sometimes Audio and Video signal can not be transmitted simultaneously due to additional process time for the video signal compared to that of the audio signal.
Often video signal takes more time than the audio signal to convert from analogue signal to digital signal in the Digital TV.
It may result in mismatch of the picture and sound.
In the TH-G30/40's HD AV Sync menu, you can adjust the audio signal delay for simultaneous AV signal transmission
1. Delay time can be varied in 10msec steps.(0 to 300ms)
2. Delay time is different between TV Brands.
So you need to adjust the delay time for correct lip-sync.
The adjustment is listed in the instruction book page12

Once watching a dvd it wont let me change the surround that i want. How do i fix it?

Apparently, the use of the built-in DVD player doesn't allow sound field manipulation; but external sources can be modified. This subject is only discussed in this section of the manual...

"Enjoying audio form an external
source
You can enjoy audio form an external source through
your unit.
Press INPUT repeatedly to select the desired input
source. - AUX, AUX OPT, AUDIO IN
Setting the surround mode
You can select the Dolby Pro Logic II. Press
SURROUND to change surround mode repeatly...."

Universal remote

You can try a code seach which many universal remotes will do, this may be called auto search, if you have the manual for the RCA see if it is listed, instead of entering a 3 digit code, you cycle through all codes until the correct one responds to the unit you are trying to program.
