Connected Canon MP610 to Apple Time capsule via USB. My Macbook pro prints wirelessly perfectly, as does my sons Vista Laptop, however my daughters vista laptop and my wifes XP laptop print black fine, but colours are shifted by an inch and different fonts - connect via usb to printer and its fine. deleted drivers and reinstalled printer drivers from bonjour but same problem

Hi, thanks for the response - sorry I may have not explained properly - the laptops that do NOT work properly, DO work properly via USB, but NOT via wireless - the colour are staggered, but B&W is fine.

Hi richardhaley,
Isee that you are having issues with your Canon MP610 printer.
You mentioned that your printer is connected to an Apple Time capsule via USB and that it works fin on your Macbook and on your sons Vista Laptop but prints the colored shifted to the right on your daughter's Vista and wife's XP Laptop and this is connected via USB.
If I may ask have you tried printing wireless using your daughters Vista Laptop and you wife's XP Laptop to see if the colors are still gonna shifted to the right.
Also you mentioned the drive that the driver you are using is from bonjour but still you have the same problem.
Here is a link where you can download drivers specific for the versions of windows your daughter's Vista and your wife's XP would have, you will need to select exactly the OS operating system for the driver that you need also there is a software for each Operating system as well maybe you can download that as well for both system for you to be able to recalibrate the printer from the 2 machines.
I hope that this will help.
Thank you for choosing Fixya,
mvincentc

Welcome to Fixya

You dont need a CD or driver to connect to time capsule. All you need to do is to have you MACbook detect the Time capsuple. Open AirPort Utility, select Time Capsule, and click Continue. Enter the password of the time capsule if incase you secured the router.

I used to have a linksys router but now have a Apple Time Machine. When I power up my WGA54G all i get is the power light. When I connect my WGA54G to the Time Machine, only the ethernet and power are lit....

Well, I'm not quite sure what your asking, exactly, but I'll try,

What are you wanting to connect the 'WGA to?

--"I used to have a linksys router but now have a Apple Time Machine."--
The Apple "Time Machine" is the backup "software" that controls the "Time CAPSULE'S" Hard Drive so I'll take it you mean the Time Capsule. The Time Capsule is already wireless.

The Time Capsule is just a wireless router with a Hard Drive in it. You should have set the Time Capsule up the same way you did the Linksys router. The Time Machine software on your computer can now access the Hard Drive for backup purposes.

"Time Capsule" connects to the '"WGA" wirelessly
'"WGA" is connected to a"Game system" (or network ready non-wireless product) via the Ethernet cable.

-"When I connect my WGA54G to the Time Machine,"-
OK,,,,,,, After looking at the manual on-line I think I know what happened, I believe the Manual is wrong! The "NOTE" mentioned to hook it to the Router first but how the heck are you suppose to access it from there? You CAN'T!
I think they had a "Brain Fade" and meant to hook it to the computer.

Hook the 'WGA to the Mac Book Pro and you should be able to access it now. You might want to make sure the MBP's Network connection LOCATION is set to AUTO to make sure it connects OK.

Make sure the switch on the side of the 'WGA is set to - infra- and not -ad-hoc-.

Hook an Ethernet cable to the computer then hook the other end to the 'WGA then plug the power cord into the WGA to turn it on and then try the Ip # it said to use in a web browser. If it then shows the log-in screen then enter them in like the manual said.

According to the manual if you can't access the 'WGA via the IP #192.168.1.250 then it some how got changed and you will have to reset it like the manual say's.

I hope I understood you OK, Good luck....

Change the scale in the print options. The print options can be seen when you start to print something. There will be an option asking "print to scale"...select that and you should be fine.

Can't print from MacBook, through Time Capsule, to Lexmark x5470

turn on the printer sharing via the system preference panel on the computer that is on the system via usb.
Then on your wifi computer look for shared printers and you'll see your printer in the list under the host computer name... use that setting and it should fire up for you!
let me know how it goes...

When connected to Airport Express via USB, it will

Airport Express provides only a print server, not a networked usb hub so it can only print. I'm afraid you'll have to go back to wired for scanning.

Can't print to mac wirelessly (could do it a few days ago)

I had the same problem until recently. You have to install the drivers FROM THE CD that came with the printer, instead of selecting the drivers from the default list. Then, when selecting which printer driver to use (you'll have two options) choose Canon IJ and NOT Canon MX310 series. This is a problem with their MX310 driver, which is solved using a default/generic Canon InkJet (hence, the IJ) driver. Hope this helps!
P.S. This only works on Mac OS X. I have yet to figure out how to print wirelessly through Vista. Will keep you posted.

Printer Sharing

Hi jammin dave,

There are certainly known issues with sharing a printer installed on an XP machine to a Vista machine. First question is whether you have Windows Live OneCare installed. This in itself causes known sharing problems.
