I have a sony wega trinitron, when the tv is turned on, (no visual, or sound) the red stand by light blinks 7 times, and you hear the tv click off? Please help
Re: I have a sony wega trinitron, when the tv is turned...
Seven blinks - High voltage shutdown. The high voltage has exceeded 33k and the unit goes immediately into safety shutdown. Check power supply regulation and horizontal circuits.
Yeah, but how do I go about checking power supply regulation and horizontal circuits myself?Yeah, but how do I go about checking power supply regulation and horizontal circuits myself?

COULD YOU PLEASE HELP ME OUT ,I'VE TRIED CUTTING THE TV OFF FOR ABOUT 6 HOURS AND CUTTING IT BACK ON,SAME RESULTS, THANKS
go to turn tv on,hear a poping noise, once then tv standby lite blinks 3 times repeatily but no picture or audio.can you help me out with this thank you
Since the set appears to "recover", it suggests either a poor solder connection or bad cap somewhere in the power supply. The 7 blinks indicate the problem circuit is in the horizontal area. Check the regulator (STRxxxx) IC in the power supply. If you do not have experience working with TVs, please refer this repair to a shop. The regulator IC costs around $25.
This means one of three things, either the lamp is bad on your tv, the ballast that powers the lamp is bad or the safety switch for the lamp door is not depressed or it has come un-plugged. It could also mean the power supply or fuse on the power board is blown. I am assuming this is a DLP tv, and if so, it is fairly easy to fix it or find parts for it online. If you are slightly mechanically inclined, want to save money and dont mind paying attention to detail then you can fix it yourself. If you need help dont hesitate to ask.
this is almost certainly a ht proplem chech ht transistor by removal then turn tv on it should if so replace transistor be carfull high voltage may be still present on capacitors
When I turn on the TV I hear the click sound and the TV powers up. Immediatly the red (standby) light begins to flash 6 times on and off. this happenes only in the morning, but after 5:00PM when youturn on the TV as if nothing is wrong.
