Go to the dos command, type ipconfig to find out the default gatway. Once you get the default gatway, type it into your browswer then it will ask you for your user/pw. The default user/password is
user:admin
pw:password

Once you log in, you can change the wireless pass, wep, wpa, etc.

My kindle can't acess wifi

Are you certain you are in a place where there is accessible wi-fi, a "hot-spot"? This would preferably be your own network, so you can access it. Lots of times a Kindle will find private networks around that you can't access, and there are also places like airports where it will find a public network. See

Can not remember password for my amazon kindle

I'm sorry that you forgot the password of Amazon kindle device.

If you cannot remember the password for your Kindle, you can reset your password to regain access. Resetting your password will delete all content on your Kindle and you'll need to register your Kindle again before downloading items from your Kindle Library on Amazon.com.

To reset your Kindle if you don't have the password:

  1. Slide and release the power switch to turn on the device or exit sleep mode.
  2. Enter "resetmykindle" in the password field and press the enter key on the key pad.
  3. Wait several minutes while your Kindle restarts.

Thanks for understanding. I hope the information helpful. Please let me know if you require any further assistance.

Kindle new do i need wifi connection

The Kindle is available in two versions
1) Enabled with Wi-Fi only version
2) Wi-Fi plus 3G version.

In the case of the 3G-enabled Kindle, you do not need to do anything to connect to the Internet. The Kindle automatically connects to Amazon's 3G Whispernet network whenever it is within the coverage area. No membership or subscription fees are required in this particular version.

For a Wi-Fi only Kindle, you must select and connect to a public or private wireless network to access the Internet. You'll need to use your home Wi-Fi network or another access point to complete the initial setup and buy books and selling on amazon.

But The Kindle DX is only capable of with the use of a 3G connection.

I cannot register my kindle and cannot link up to wifi. I have tried connecting it to my computer, but nothing is working. With this, I cannot load any books onto it. Can someone please help me? Thank...

Usually the Kindle comes pre-registered to the name used for purchasing it.

However, to register to a different name, open http://www.kindle.com on a PC. Log in using your existing Amazon account or create a new one, following the directions on the web page.

If your Kindle was not registered yet, you can add your device by clicking on "Register a new Kindle" and enter your serial number.

If the device is registered already, it should show up in the list displayed.

My Kindle will reconize the network but says the password is invalid but if it was then my laptop would not be able to connect to the Internet. ? Can you solve this mystery for me? This is the first...

I am not familiar with the kindle, however your premis, " but if it was then my laptop would not be able to connect to the Internet. ?" is not exactly correct. When your network was set up someone put a password in to protect your network from having unauthorized connections to it. That password is needed by every computer that has a network card. Someone added that password to your laptop, but if I were to come into your house (invited of course) my computer would see your network name, but I would not be able to access it untill you told me your password and I entered it into my network access. What your kindle is telling you is that you must put that password into its network card, and after that it will remember it just like your laptop. Now if you were to take your kindle to McDonalds, it would not need a password and would connect up. This is because McDonalds operates an "OPEN" network that does not have a password and welcomes everybody to connect up. Remember when you use the McDonalds "OPEN" network, your session would be available to any one that wanted to snoop, and could capture what you wrote including paswords to banks, other networks etc.
