I have a Carrier Visionaire LCA061P air conditioner that my landlord accidently dropped about 3 feet out window. It broke the outside shell, broke the fan and whatever else. Is there a place where I can purchase another one of them? I couldn't find anything online. It's been wonderful because you don't loose half a window when installed. Don't think this can be repaired. Thank you

    Thanks Dave,
I appreciate your help. Will now pursue one of the new slim-line brands and see what I find via your suggestions.
Do like the reduced loss of window, which is why I bought the Carrier in the first place.
Thanks again and continued success with your helping others.

I don't believe your unit can be had anymore and I would not advise buying one used. They do however still offer "low profile" a/c's like this one:

I also saw one Fridgidaire # FRA064VU1:

I didn't see any dimensions but this is along the lines of what you are looking for. Hope this helps you.

I agree with you, it's nice not to have to give up the whole window. Glad I could help.

My landlord installed this brand new out of the box. Our apt is 900 sq ft tops. This unit can't even cool down our living room and kitchen. If the whole 2 bedroom apt is 900 sq ft, you can imagine how...

The AC your landlord installed is rated at 8000 btu which is way too small for 900 sq ft. You need at least a 15000 Btu Air conditioner and a 'well insulated' house to be cool.
A good rule of thumb in the AC business says you need 1 ton (12000 btu) of Air conditioning for every 600 sq feet (if the house is well insulated) - if not - then you will need 1 ton (12000 btu) for every 400 sq feet.
So, if you have 900 sq feet and the house is well insulated you should have at least a 15000 btu unit.
If it's not well insulated you will need 24,000 btu.

Outside unit keeps shutting off after 15 to 20 mins.

When compressors are on their way out, this is a symptom that is common.

I have a domestic carrier air-conditioner in

There should be an Error code cheat on the back of the electriacl cover that explains what each blink or sequence means. If it doesnt have one then just go online and look up the Model/Serial number up on the Carrier website and it should tell you.

My AC unit is a carrier LCA061P window unit. It works okay but has recently started to make a loud clatter. I would like to replace whatever parts that are needed but can't seem to find any relevant...

Good possibility. WIth the unit powered off and unplugged check the clearance of the wheel and the collection basin underneath, Debris could be the source but I suspect the bearing is failing on the motor

I never put an air conditioner in a window. The air conditioner was given to me with no instructions. Please tell me all I should do to make it safe.

window type airconditioners have a shell or outer body. Install the shell first. "L" braces are okay to use for bracing the protruding condenser outside. Once the shell is secured you can just slide the main airconditioner in it.
