Keep in mind that there are two filters:

Coarse filter
The coarse filter collects large food particles
which cannot pass the outflow pump.
Lift out and empty the coarse filter as
necessary. Don't forget to replace it!

Fine filter
The residue which collects on the fine filter is
automatically rinsed off with each wash. The
fine filter should still be cleaned once or
twice a year.

1. Remove the fine filter by first turning the
filter's tubular strainer anti-clockwise and
then lifting it straight up with the coarse filter.

2. Clean with a dish washing brush. Ensure
that the edges are properly sealed

Download the manual and go to cleaning page.

I have an Asko 1885 dishwasher. Some of the dishes on the bottom rack come out clean and some do not.

Requires deep cleaning below the spare arm - down to the food chopper area which is below the arm. Requires some disassembly.

Dishwasher smells

There is a sump in bottom that collects food that is too big to fit in the pump or the drain. You need to clean that. Then you can run one cup of vinegar or bleach in the unit with no dishes.

My asko 3122 dishwasher wont drain

It is likely that there is some minor clogging in the diswasher drain filter.Clean as per the user instructions available with the dishwasher. Also likely the kitchen drain could be clogging. Buy a dishwasher cleaning kit from supermarket. Finish make a good product. Use it to clean the dishwasher as per instructions on the kit.

Frigidare dishwasher did not spin

  1. Waste Disposal/Sink trap
    • Empty your food waste disposal unit if your dishwasher's hooked up to one. If it's not empty, the old food inside it will back water up into your machine. Check that your sink trap isn't blocked by unscrewing it from the base of your sink if you don't have a food waste disposal unit. Make sure your dishwasher or any other appliances connected to it are not running when you do so.
    Incomplete Cycle
    • You may have opened your dishwasher's door mid-cycle before it's had a chance to drain. Check the progress indicator on your machine's control panel. The structure of this will differ depending on which Frigidaire model you're using, but it should show the point your machine has reached in its cycle. If this is the cause of the problem, close your dishwasher's door and let it finish.
    Drainage Pipe
    • Inspect the drain pipe that runs from your machine to your waste disposal unit or sink. If this is kinked or has been squashed under another appliance or a base unit, the waste water inside your dishwasher will be unable to escape. Check that water can flow through your waste pipe freely.
    Filter
    • Remove the bottom shelf from inside your machine and take out the plate covering the filter area. If you don't rinse your plates before you put them into your washer, food debris could block your filter and stop water from reaching your drainage pipe. You can unblock your filter with your fingers. Turn off your machine's power before you attempt to do so.

Food gets stuck on dishes especially in the top rack.

There is a waste filter in the bottom under the lower spray arm that needs to be cleaned periodically. If you are not cleaning it, it may be redepositing food particles on your dishes.
remove and clean the filter, and see if that helps.

Fine grit on dishes, especially on top rack. bottom is full of food waste.

Depending on the machine you have it will have a filtering system to filter out food waste as it washes. This stops the food from being circulated by the wash process as water is cycled through the pump, internal plumbing, and washer arms. Your unit is failing to filter the water.
On the base of your unit in the centre on the floor will be a drain. Some have a visible filter and others have "soft food disposal" system. They are meant to be opened and cleaned from time to time and yours sounds like it is time.
Visible filters will lift out. Some you turn or there will be a catch holding it in place. Others will have obvious screws holding the filer. Open yours and take a look for food waste or debris clogging the drain and filter. Clear out anything you see there.
The washer arms also clog over time. You can remove them also and clear away anything from inside. The holes in the arms can be cleaned with a bamboo skewer or piece of wire. This often makes on old tired machine perform like new again.
While you are in there, check under the float valve. It looks like an upside down tea cup on the floor of the machine usually near the front. Make sure nothing is stuck under it and that it lifts up and down freely.
Hope this helps you. Please rate this answer if it has helped you.

Diswasher asko d1716

clean out the food traps in the bottom, assuming the unit has some sort of filter.
then run a cup of bleach in the unit with no dishes. you might need to do this once or twice.
make sure you use fresh bleach.
most bleach dies in strength after only 2 weeks. it will still smell like bleach to some degree, but it will have little effect. most bleach manufacturers add 'scents' to the bleach to hide the degradation characteristics of bleach.
also, you may have a partially blocked air gap.
to determine this, check for water remaining in the bottom of the tub after it drains. left over water will contribute to odor, and negate any sterilization you dishwasher might otherwise try to do.
good luck
