Remote no longer controls tv set. Changed batteries and cleaned contacts in remote. . also in the Dish network remote which now no longer works with the set either.

When battery is changed, all the previous settings will be lost from the remote control. You should once again set it to your device, using codes.

1) clean contacts batteries and clean.
2) retigh the spring with pliers very well for better contacts.
3) resolder the wires contacts batteries for a good contacts
4) open the remote c and clean the keypads for dirty, oxide with special spray contacts cleaner.Resolder all colder joint points.
5) Try again.
6)I f the problem persist you must go to the repair shop TV for fix it or change by new R.C.

No,the Dish Network satalite box signals require it own remote for it INFER RED INPUT and INFER RED OUTPUT signals.Call Dish Network customer service ask for a another original Dish Network remote.U pay $5 or $6 dollars a month for the satalite box as rental.They should wave the fee or charge u very little for a another remote.

Hello! Daniel Busa with Dish Network. That would be a case of remote interference. You'll need a model 6.3 or 6.4 remote. You can set it to a uhf frequency instead of an ir that will correct the issue.

It depends. If this is a remote for a satellite receiver, you may need to resynch the remote (see your manual - I know the Dish instructions).

If this is a TV only remote, you might try opening it and cleaning the contacts with an can of compressed air, electronic contact cleaner and a clean pencil eraser. However, recent remotes are like keyboards (membrane contacts) and this doesn't always work. In that case consider a universal remote to replace the bad one or look to see if remotes.com has a duplicate of your remote.

I would suggest to open the remote and clean the contacts very gentle using rubbing alcohol. If the cleaning does not work, it means the remote keypad is not longer functional.
